Ricardo Mendoza Soberano is a Mexican actor and director of dubbing, widely recognized for his extensive work in Latin American Spanish voice-over for anime, animated series, and films. Born on June 25, 1963, in Mexico City, he began his career in dubbing in 1989, building a legacy over more than thirty-five years in the industry.

Mendoza is perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Shiryu of Dragon in the long-running Saint Seiya franchise. He voiced this role across numerous installments, including the classic television series, the OVAs The Hades Chapter - Sanctuary, The Hades Chapter - Inferno, and The Hades Chapter - Elysion, as well as the films The Legend of the Sanctuary and Saint Seiya Omega. His involvement with the franchise extended to voicing additional characters such as Siegfried of Dubhe and various background soldiers.

The actor's repertoire includes several other prominent anime roles. He voiced Seto Kaiba, the rival protagonist in Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Yamcha in the Dragon Ball franchise, including Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Z Kai. He also took on the role of the antagonist Sosuke Aizen in Bleach. His work in the 2001 version of Cyborg 009 saw him voice Jet Link, also known as Cyborg 002. In the series Shaman King, he provided the voice for the character Kalim. Mendoza also voiced Touma Hashiba, known as Tommy in the English adaptation, in the series Legendary Armored Samurai Troopers.

Beyond anime, Mendoza's voice is familiar to audiences for characters in Western animation. He is the voice of Courage, the titular protagonist of Courage the Cowardly Dog, Eddy in the early seasons of Ed, Edd n Eddy, and Melman the giraffe in the Madagascar film series. His work also includes portraying Dave Seville in the Alvin and the Chipmunks films and Eddie Brock / Venom in the 1990s Spider-Man animated series.

Mendoza comes from a family deeply rooted in dubbing. He is the brother of the late actor Luis Alfonso Mendoza and is married to actress Rocío González. His children, Monserrat, Ricardo Jr., and Itzel Mendoza, have also followed careers in voice acting. In addition to his dubbing work, Mendoza is also a stand-up comedian, performing under the nickname El Coyote.
