Description
Michiru Kita, an orphan marked by tragedy at six when her Shinigami Eyes revealed the death rings encircling her parents’ necks moments before their fatal accident, grows shrouded in emotional detachment. Raised by relatives who resented her presence yet coveted her inheritance, her apathetic demeanor and passive outlook invite scorn until her resilience emerges through her work with Zombie-Loan, redirecting her purpose toward protecting others.
Her cursed vision, which detects impending doom through dark neck rings, remains veiled behind specialized glasses. Later, she learns she is a Singularity—a non-human entity forged by Hakka to annihilate the Akashic Records. This origin unlocks reality-altering powers, including spatial manipulation and timeline resets, which she wields to purge existential anomalies in the saga’s climax.
Though initially timid, Michiru’s encounters with undead threats and cosmic dangers forge her into a tenacious survivor. She destroys antagonist Carmella’s core to safeguard allies, infiltrates comatose ally Chika’s psyche to revive him, and leverages her programming expertise to hack critical systems, erasing data to aid her cause.
Multiple characters—Chika, Shito, Zen, Yomi—harbor unreciprocated affection for her, though she remains oblivious, prioritizing survival and duty over romance. Her closest bond is with Zarame, a Grim Reaper whose constant presence fosters mutual trust. A fleeting relationship with Soutetsu Asou dissolves after a single date, underscoring her emotional guardedness.
Key arcs include her temporary death and resurrection via Zombie-Loan’s intervention, the revelation of her adoption and artificial origins, and her pivotal role in dismantling Hakka’s apocalyptic scheme. The narrative concludes with her resetting existence, retaining memories of erased timelines as she witnesses Chika and Shito’s accident recurring under altered circumstances.
Physically slight with pink hair and piercing green eyes, Michiru’s school uniform and glasses obscure her presence. Her evolution is mirrored in subtle changes: abandoning glasses in reset timelines and symbolic haircuts marking emotional turning points, reflecting her journey from fragility to quiet resolve.
