Description
Eita Tanaka is Yūji Sakai's classmate at Misaki City Municipal High School and Keisaku Satō's best friend. He possesses a large but slim physique, standing 175 cm tall, with fair skin, short dark hair, and a charming face despite his eyes rarely opening fully. This build grants him excellent athleticism.
His personality shows awkwardness and innocence, especially regarding romance. He remains unaware of Matake Ogata's feelings for him despite their close friendship, a density that persists even during a school trip to a hot springs resort where Ogata's attempts to confess are repeatedly thwarted by comedic mishaps.
Eita shares a long-standing friendship with Keisaku since middle school, marked by frequent mischief. Like Keisaku, he has a strained relationship with his parents. After Flame Haze Margery Daw arrives in Misaki City, she randomly selects Eita and Keisaku as her guides. They discover the Crystal Altar, a magical map previously used by the defeated Crimson Denizen Friagne, and begin assisting Margery against Crimson Denizens. Eita openly expresses admiration and affection for Margery, calling her "ane-san" (respectable elder sister), displaying more apparent devotion than Keisaku.
A pivotal moment occurs during the Seishū Festival when Margery accidentally shoots Ogata inside a Fūzetsu (a sealed battlefield). Witnessing Ogata's near-fatal injury traumatizes Eita and solidifies his realization of her importance. This event catalyzes their transition from friends to a couple. Following this, Eita decides to permanently distance himself from Flame Haze and Crimson Denizen conflicts. He parts ways with Keisaku and Margery to pursue a normal life with Ogata, prioritizing their relationship and personal safety over supernatural warfare.
In subsequent developments, Eita maintains his relationship with Ogata and adheres to his decision to live outside the world of Flame Hazes, focusing on an ordinary human existence with her. His character arc concludes with this commitment to a peaceful life.
