Takayuki Kondo is a Japanese voice actor born on June 5, 1978, in Tottori Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with Aoni Production, having joined the agency on April 1, 2023, after previous associations with other talent management firms including AIR AGENCY and BLACK SHIP. He stands 173cm tall and has blood type A.
Before pursuing a career in voice acting, Kondo worked for a railway company. His first regular role in animation came in the year 2000, when he provided the voice for Hiroto Honda in the series Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. A significant and enduring role in his career began in 2001 with the long-running sports anime The Prince of Tennis, in which he voices Shuichiro Oishi, the dependable vice-captain of the Seishun Academy tennis team. He has continued to reprise this role in numerous sequel series and OVAs over the following two decades, including The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup.
Kondo's career features a number of other notable and recurring roles across anime, video games, and original video animations. In the video game series The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, he voices the character Agate Crosner, a role he also performed in the anime adaptation Minna Atsumare! Falcom Gakuen. He is known for playing Eita Tanaka in the popular fantasy series Shakugan no Shana and its sequels, as well as Tetsudō "Poppo" Hisakawa in the critically acclaimed drama anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day. His versatility as a voice actor is demonstrated by roles such as the boisterous Go Saruwatari in Godannar, the eccentric Ouka Midarezaki in Kyouran Kazoku Nikki, and providing the voice for Phoenix Wright in promotional videos and later games for the Ace Attorney series, including Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney − Spirit of Justice. He has also appeared in tokusatsu productions, such as Juken Sentai Gekiranger.
Kondo has been part of a notable group of fellow voice actors all born in 1978, which includes Daisuke Ono, Shin-ichiro Miki, Jun Fukuyama, Satoshi Hino, Junji Majima, and Hisayoshi Suganuma. This group formed a creative unit named DABA. He also co-hosts a long-running radio program with Daisuke Ono titled "Ono Daisuke Kondo Takayuki no Yume Bōken ~Dragon & Tiger~," which began in 2011. The program spawned a dance and vocal unit called D.A.T, in which both voice actors perform.
