Built by Senbei Norimaki, an eccentric inventor residing in Penguin Village, Arale was presented as his younger sister to mask her android origins. She gradually integrated into village life, forming enduring friendships with locals like Akane Kimidori and Taro Soramame. Her naivety and disregard for societal norms routinely spark whimsical chaos, blending humor with accidental destruction.

Later, Arale marries Obotchaman, a fellow robot engineered by Dr. Mashirito, and the pair raise a child together, reflecting her evolving emotional bonds and maturity within the community.
