Wilda, a Subterra-attribute Bakugan, takes the form of a golem crafted from rock and hardened clay. As the guardian Bakugan of Mira Fermin, leader of the New Vestroia Resistance, Wilda serves as her primary battle partner against the Vestal invaders. Introduced already in its first evolved form, Thunder Wilda, this transformation signifies substantial prior growth, tripling Wilda's original strength and enhancing its mastery of Subterra energy for combat.
Physically slow in battle, Wilda compensates with exceptional durability. Its combat style involves pounding the ground to unleash destabilizing earthquakes, followed by finishing strikes like a powerful karate chop. Wilda unleashes a deafening battle cry to intimidate and scatter foes. In ball form, its G-Power varies: Subterra versions register 570 Gs, 640 Gs, 700 Gs, or 515 Gs (translucent), while its Ventus attribute measures 570 Gs.
Throughout the New Vestroia season, Thunder Wilda engages in pivotal conflicts. In "Invasion of the Vestals," it battles Haos Freezer and Ventus Atmos alongside Dan Kuso's Neo Dragonoid. Mira activates Subterra Reactor to amplify Wilda's power, and Wilda deploys a double ability card—a first in the anime—using Power Winder and Gun Lock to weaken Atmos before charging. Though temporarily trapped by Freezer's Freeze Jail, Neo Dragonoid secures victory. Wilda confronts the mechanical Bakugan Altair, created by Mira's father and controlled by Lync Volan, in "Cyber Nightmare," ending inconclusively due to Altair's malfunctions. It later defeats Premo Vulcan in "Unmasked" but falls to Cyborg Helios in "Brotherly Love" despite Baliton's aid.
Wilda commands abilities including Power Winder (subtracting 200 Gs from opponents), Gun Rock (adding 200 Gs to itself), and Clay Wall (boosting its G-Power while resetting opponents). It utilizes Sand-Beast to nullify enemy abilities and Quicksand Hole to immobilize foes while draining their power. Wilda is also one of the few Bakugan capable of wielding Copycat, a Subterra ability that replicates opponents' techniques.
In episode 27, Wilda undergoes a second evolution into Magma Wilda, fueled by attribute energy from Clayf, one of the Six Ancient Soldiers. This transformation occurs during the collective empowerment of Drago and other guardian Bakugan by the ancient warriors. Beyond the anime, Wilda features in the video game *Bakugan: Defenders of the Core* with unique abilities: Earth Cannon (firing shoulder cannonballs), Earthquake (triggering combo attacks), Obsidian Shield (deflecting shots), and Earthen Armor (preventing stagger).
Wilda's physical design bears a noted resemblance to Vandarus within the Bakugan universe.
