Description
Morihito Otogi, a half-ogre, half-human protector of the Otogi clan, carries a name blending "guard" and "compassion," embodying his dual heritage. Born to an ogre father and human mother, childhood tragedy shaped him—his mother’s death despite his care drove him to master Ogre Qigong under his father, Reiji, learning combat precision and emotional restraint. His physique mirrors his lineage: dark hair with a horn-like spike, a muscular frame honed through discipline, and practical attire accented by occasional whimsical shirts. Stoic and vigilant, he masks a sharp attentiveness to duty, managing chores, cooking, and safeguarding Nico Wakatsuki, the childhood friend he once rescued from magic gone awry.

Nico’s departure for witch training spurred Morihito to refine his skills, becoming her familiar alongside allies like Kanshi, Keigo, and Miharu. Though overprotective, he buried romantic feelings under a curse triggered by Nico’s childhood vow of friendship. When she temporarily reverted to a child, he embraced a paternal role, guiding her with stern care. His bonds extend warily beyond family—initial distrust of outsiders thawed into loyalty toward the Otogi members, while rivalry with tengu-descended Kanshi softened into respect. He clashes with Keigo over pop culture yet mentors Miharu like a sibling, and regards leader Tenryu with wary admiration.

In battle, Morihito channels Ogre Qigong through techniques like the crushing Metal Club, evasive Ogre Wisp, and the explosive Kaigoku Muscle Tail, augmented by Brighteyes’ analytical precision. Training under masters Ran and Mogari Otake tempered his resolve, though ideological clashes with Ran briefly fractured their bond. Beyond combat, he nurtures unexpected passions—collecting denim, crafting marbles, and deadpan comedy on a shared YouTube channel—revealing a dry humor beneath his stern exterior. His journey from solitary guardian to embracing kinship underscores a life balancing duty, loss, and the quiet warmth of found family.
