Hakurou, a Majin serving Rimuru Tempest, was originally an Ogre. Defying his tribe's typical 100-year lifespan, he lived over 300 years as the martial instructor and strongest swordsman within the Ogre Tribe's royal guard. During this period, he trained Gazel Dwargo, who later became king of the Armed Nation of Dwargon.
After his village's destruction, Hakurou encountered Rimuru under a misunderstanding. Once the true culprit was revealed, he swore allegiance to Rimuru. Rimuru's naming triggered Hakurou's evolution into a Kijin, reversing his aging to a middle-aged prime and enhancing his abilities. In Tempest, he serves dual roles as Chief Instructor of the military and an executive, responsible for training warriors like Rimuru, Gobta, and the Goblin Riders. He emphasizes mastering combat arts over innate skills.
His appearance shifted significantly after evolution. As an Ogre, he was short with silver-tinted skin, wavy silver hair, ivory horns, and wore layered robes with a scarf covering his mouth. As a Kijin, his skin lost its tint, his hair became sharper, his horns shrank, and he grew a silver goatee. His attire changed to a white overcoat, sometimes worn with a scarf.
Typically calm and analytical, especially in combat, Hakurou earned the title "Sword Savant" for his ability to dissect techniques. He reacts sharply to being called "old man," often threatening increased training or death.
