Description
Fels is an immortal entity exceeding eight centuries in age, originally titled the Sage from the ancient magic nation of Altena. The creation of the Philosopher's Stone, pursued for eternal life, resulted in a catastrophic ritual backfire that transmuted Fels into a living skeleton devoid of flesh. This profound trauma ignited intense self-loathing, prompting rejection of the "Sage" title in favor of "Fool."
Concealed entirely within black robes that obscure their skeletal form and prevent gender identification, Fels exists in an undead state requiring no sustenance, water, or sleep, though capable of experiencing fatigue. Their condition renders curses like Phobetor Daedalus ineffective.
Operating as the clandestine agent of the deity Ouranos within Orario's Guild, Fels gathers intelligence on dungeon anomalies and executes Ouranos's directives, acting independently when necessary. Guild staff, encountering Fels rarely within headquarters, occasionally refer to them as "the Ghost."
Fels operates at Level 4 adventurer status, possessing enhanced physical capabilities and senses. Key combat techniques include Concurrent Chanting, enabling spellcasting while moving. Magical abilities encompass Dia Panakeia for advanced healing and curse removal, and Dia Orpheus—a resurrection magic successfully employed only once to revive the Xenos Wiene.
Development abilities include Mage, boosting magical power and efficiency, and Mystery, facilitating the creation of potent magical items. Fels's craftsmanship exceeds even Asfi's, producing devices such as the Occulus (long-distance communication crystals), Magic Eater (shockwave-emitting gauntlet), and a cloak granting invisibility and curse resistance.
Initially reluctant to aid the Xenos, Fels ultimately became a committed ally striving for human-monster coexistence. They orchestrated alliances with factions like the Loki Familia during the Knossos campaign and expressed deep emotion witnessing cross-species cooperation.
Fels significantly influenced Bell Cranel, advising that enduring the label "hypocrite" for one's convictions forms the foundation of heroism, fortifying Bell's resolve to protect the Xenos. During the Daedalus Street conflict, Fels revived Wiene using Dia Orpheus and later supported Bell against the Freya Familia.
Fels established a workshop in Knossos, aiding dungeon exploration by dismantling magical barriers. They also participated in healing civilians and combating antagonistic forces during events like the Astraea Record.
Trivia notes: Fels created the Philosopher's Stone under a deity who destroyed it out of malice. The healing magic Dia Panakeia derives its name from Panacea (Greek goddess of universal remedy), while Dia Orpheus references Orpheus's underworld journey.
