Description
Maam, daughter of Roka the Warrior and Leira the Priest, inherits her parents' legacy as former companions of hero Avan during the Dark Lord's defeat. Raised by Leira in Nayle Village within Romos Kingdom, she became Avan's second disciple after Hyunckel. Trained as a Warrior Priest but hindered by offensive magic limitations, she received a Magic Bullet Gun from Avan to fire spell-charged bullets. Her early yellow plain clothes with goggles evolved into priestly wayfarer attire: a red or pink poncho over a black shirt, complemented by a circlet, gloves, and boots.

Her personality blends fierce courage, unwavering justice, and maternal kindness. She frequently clashes with Popp over his cowardice, oblivious to his romantic feelings, stating she needs time to understand such emotions. Her compassion catalyzes the redemption of antagonists Crocodine and Hyunckel, with the latter viewing her as a motherly figure despite imprisoning her during his service to Hadlar. She reacts violently to perverted behavior, often punishing Popp for accidental encounters, yet shows profound concern upon learning he once died in battle.

Her journey ignites upon rescuing Dai and Popp from monsters in Romos' Dark Forest. Learning of Avan's death, she joins their quest against the Dark Army. At Romos Castle, she frees Dai from Crocodine's paralysis using a Tingle-charged bullet, contributing to their victory and earning a new outfit from the King of Romos.

Captured by Hyunckel and held in the Underground Palace, she uncovers his grudge against Avan and discovers a Soul Shell containing final words from Hyunckel's adoptive father Bartos. Presenting this to Hyunckel proves Avan's innocence in Bartos' death, triggering his redemption. Confronting Flazzard at Valge Island, she knocks out an overmatched Dai to ensure his escape. To save Princess Leona from ice imprisonment, she destroys her Magic Bullet Gun by firing a Sizzle bullet, sacrificing her primary weapon.

After this loss, she trains under Brokeena in Romos as a Martial Artist, developing a muscular physique. Her new attire includes a pink strongsam outfit with a "武" shoulder pad, black tights in the 2020 adaptation, armlets, and boots. She masters techniques like Multifists, Harvest Moon, and Refractor Fist—an attack overloading enemies with healing energy to induce decay. Temporarily leaving the party for training, she returns during the Romos Martial Arts Tournament, freeing contestants from Zamza's Bioprison and expressing sympathy upon learning of Zamza's abusive past.

In the final battle, blacksmith Lon Berk gifts her a gauntlet transforming into armor and metal-fist knuckles, enhancing her martial prowess. Her abilities evolve from hybrid warrior-priest tactics to advanced physical combat. Spin-off media like *Dragon Quest Tact* and *A Hero's Bonds* depict her in multiple vocations: a Priest dealing magical Woosh damage, a Light-elemental attacker in Romos attire, and a Strike-focused Martial Artist. These iterations highlight support capabilities, stat enhancements tied to HP conditions, and traits like increased critical rates or elemental resistances.
