TV-Series
Description
Nezuko Kamado is a demon transformed from a human during an attack orchestrated by Muzan Kibutsuji that killed most of her family. She remains the younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado. Despite her demonic state, she retains sufficient humanity to resist harming humans, reinforced by hypnotic conditioning from Sakonji Urokodaki during a two-year hibernation. This instilled a deep belief that all humans are family to protect.

She travels concealed within a wooden box carried by Tanjiro to avoid sunlight, emerging mainly for battle or to aid him. Her appearance features fair skin, long dark hair fading to orange tips, pink eyes, and prominent fangs typically hidden by a bamboo muzzle secured with red cloth. She wears a pink kimono patterned with hemp leaves, a red-and-white checkered obi, and a dark brown haori.

During the Mugen Train Arc, Nezuko boards the train with Tanjiro, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira to assist Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku. When the demon Enmu, Lower Rank One of the Twelve Kizuki, induces deep sleep in the Demon Slayers, Nezuko's demonic nature renders her immune. Attempting to wake Tanjiro, she headbutts his hardened forehead, injuring herself. The resulting pain triggers tears that activate her Blood Demon Art, Exploding Blood, igniting her blood into flames harmful solely to demons. She uses this power to sever the spiritual cores binding Enmu's human agents to the dream manipulation, awakening the slayers.

In the subsequent battle, Nezuko collaborates with Zenitsu to defend three train cars against Enmu's assaults, employing her demonic superhuman strength, agility, and regeneration. Prolonged power use exhausts her. After Enmu fuses with the train, she aids in passenger protection while Tanjiro and Inosuke target the demon's neck. Following Enmu's defeat and the train's derailment, she falls asleep in Zenitsu's arms and is returned to her box before sunrise.

Her actions earn acknowledgment from Kyojuro Rengoku as a member of the Demon Slayer Corps for protecting human lives. This arc underscores her reliance on nonverbal communication—facial expressions, gestures, and occasional growls—due to the muzzle and limited speech. Her protective bond with Tanjiro drives her actions, while interactions with Zenitsu and Inosuke show gradual ally acceptance.

Nezuko possesses size manipulation, shrinking for concealment or growing to enhance combat. Her Blood Demon Art evolves under stress, enabling targeted pyrokinetic attacks against demons. Unlike other demons, she recovers strength through sleep, not consuming human flesh, embodying resilience and loyalty while prioritizing human safety over her demonic instincts.
