Description
Muzan Kibutsuji is the first demon ever to exist, having transformed from a human noble over a thousand years ago during the Heian period. As a young man, he suffered from a terminal illness that would have killed him before the age of twenty. A physician administered an experimental treatment using a rare flower known as the Blue Spider Lily, curing his disease but triggering an unintended mutation. In a fit of impatience and rage before the treatment was complete, Muzan killed the physician, forever trapping himself in an incomplete state. He gained immense power and near-immortality but retained a critical vulnerability to sunlight. This singular flaw became the driving obsession of his existence.
Muzan possesses a cold, ruthless, and exceptionally intelligent demeanor. He is a profound narcissist who regards himself as the closest thing to a perfect being and views all other life as disposable tools. Humans hold no value for him, and he shows little regard even for the demons he creates, punishing failure with brutal, often fatal, severity. Underneath his composed and detached exterior, he harbors a deep-seated cowardice. He avoids direct conflict whenever possible, preferring to use his vast network of minions to accomplish his goals.
