Description
Yoshino Himekawa, operating under the Spirit codename Hermit, presents as a girl aged 13-14 with striking blue eyes and long blue hair, standing 144 cm tall. Originally human, she was known simply as Yoshino, raised by her widowed mother Nagisa Himekawa roughly 26 years before the main timeline. Severe illness confined her childhood largely to a hospital, where Nagisa provided a white rabbit puppet named Yoshinon as her constant companion. After Nagisa succumbed to a work accident, Yoshino's health declined until Mio Takamiya transformed her into a Spirit using a Sephira Crystal. This act cured her illness but erased her human memories.

As a Spirit, Yoshino frequently manifested in the human world, sometimes triggering unintentional Spacequakes. Her powers involuntarily generated rain, mirroring her profound loneliness and sadness. Hunted by the Anti-Spirit Team (AST), she never fought back due to her inherently gentle and non-violent nature. This isolation fostered the creation of Yoshinon—an alternate persona representing her heroic alter ego, voiced through ventriloquism. Yoshinon exhibited an outgoing, blunt, and fiercely protective personality, becoming Yoshino's primary conduit for communication and emotional support. Separation from the puppet inflicted severe psychological distress, causing her surroundings to freeze uncontrollably.

Shido Itsuka recognized her kindness and intervened to save her. Following the sealing of her Spirit powers, she resided briefly aboard the Fraxinus airship before moving to an apartment near Shido. Supported by Ratatoskr, she gradually learned to communicate independently, lessening her reliance on Yoshinon. This growth included attending school and serving as student council secretary. Her emotional development culminated during a Spirit battle royal, where she defeated multiple adversaries to protect Shido, unleashing unexpected combat resolve despite her typically passive demeanor.

Yoshino's abilities focus on manipulating water in all states, primarily employing ice defensively. Her Angel, Zadkiel, manifests as a colossal three-meter puppet resembling Yoshinon, capable of absorbing environmental moisture to unleash freezing attacks. Yoshinon also acts as a limiter, preventing lethal force. Zadkiel's uncontrolled secondary form surpasses building size and lacks the signature eyepatch. Yoshino can fuse with Zadkiel via "Siryon," gaining protective ice armor and enhanced cryokinetic abilities for close combat. Her Astral Dress, "El," offers high defense, capable of blocking AST missiles.

The Astral Dress features a green rabbit-themed raincoat with detached sleeves, a hood sporting ears, gold zigzag trim accents, and a tail fastened with a pink ribbon. Underneath, she wears a white dress and a pink neck ribbon. Post-sealing, she adopts everyday wear like sundresses and school uniforms. Concept art depicts her Inverse Form with translucent white hair, a black hoodie, an eyepatch, and a red right eye, replacing Yoshinon with a smaller "Yoshinon Junior" puppet.

Throughout her journey, Yoshino evolved from a withdrawn figure dependent on Yoshinon to a more self-assured individual capable of directly verbalizing her feelings, culminating in a confession to Shido made without the puppet's intervention.
