TV-Series
Description
Komasan hails from the countryside, where he once guarded a shrine until its demolition led him to the city, drawn especially by a love for soft-serve ice cream. He is a Komainu Yo-kai with ivory fur, light blue accents on his stomach and tail tip, and long blue eyebrows resembling hitodama flames. Red swirls mark his cheeks and hips. He initially carried a green furoshiki cloth; later, after receiving a green sling pouch as a Christmas gift from his brother Komajiro, he adopted it permanently to hold his belongings.

His rural roots shine through his cheerful, curious nature and his "-zura" speech pattern, often exclaiming "Monge!" when surprised. He explores the city with wide-eyed wonder but retains a deep love for nature and ice cream. He strives to be knowledgeable and a role model for Komajiro, though his younger brother sometimes adapts faster to city life, occasionally sparking Komasan's insecurity. When angered or inspired, he exhibits unique problem-solving, like meticulously scraping gum off streets or building birdhouses, and unconventional judgment, such as supporting a contest team based on a member's happiness.

His adventures are diverse. Early encounters involve navigating city life with Nate and Whisper, facing minor Yo-kai like Sandmeh and Roughraff. He and Komajiro take on various jobs: taxi drivers discussing Yo-kai passengers, police officers in a "Hawaii Five-0" spoof, and commanders recruiting allies in a "Sangokushi" adaptation. During a Christmas delivery, Komasan initially scolds Komajiro for using a taxi but treasures the gifted sling pouch.

He leads the "Kaptain Komasan’s Expedition Team" with Komajiro and Phonius, exploring museums and folklore. In a "Fist of the North Star" parody, he portrays "Komashiro," later fusing with Jibanyan in a battle tornado to become the temporary Yo-kai Jibakoma. In a notable arc, he disguises himself as a human to encourage a discouraged manga artist, revealing his true form to inspire her, even though she depicts him as ferocious. This experience deepens his appreciation for human bonds and coffee. Later stories see him and Komajiro revisiting heartfelt memories, including summers with their mother and sister.

His relationships are defined by family loyalty and friendship. He shares a close, protective bond with Komajiro, despite their competitiveness. He corresponds with Koma Kaachan (mother), updating her on city life and visiting her in films, and learns of a new sibling, Komasaburo, during a reunion. He considers Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan trusted allies since their first meeting, collaborating in adventures and contests. His encounter with Hailey Anne and Usapyon, after being caught sneaking ice cream, leads to mutual respect; he later aids Hailey’s detective agency.

In battle, he employs blue fireballs, notably during cinematic fights against antagonists like Dame Dedtime.
