OVA
Description
Tenchi Masaki, a human-Juraian hybrid living in Okayama Prefecture, Japan, spent his early years in the city with his widowed father, Nobuyuki Masaki. He trained during summers as a Shinto priest and swordsman under his grandfather, Katsuhito Masaki. Tenchi's ordinary life shattered when he accidentally freed the sealed space pirate Ryoko Hakubi from a cave near his family shrine. This event destroyed his school and triggered the arrival of other extraterrestrial figures: Juraian princesses Ayeka and Sasami Masaki Jurai, Galaxy Police officer Mihoshi Kuramitsu, and scientist Washu Hakubi.

Descended from Jurai's royal lineage through his grandfather – later revealed as Prince Yosho, who settled on Earth centuries prior – Tenchi lost his mother, Kiyone Masaki, young. He later discovered an older sister, Tennyo Masaki, and a half-brother, Kenshi Masaki. Kenshi was born to Nobuyuki and Rea Masaki; Rea, an artificial human from another dimension, had a mission to bear a child destined for Geminar. Kenshi underwent extensive training for this role, with Tenchi aiding his preparation and assessing his combat readiness.

Tenchi possesses latent abilities from his heritage, chiefly the power to generate Light Hawk Wings – energy manifestations from a higher plane. Initially creating three wings, he progressed to six. These wings serve defensive and offensive functions, enabling matter transmutation (creating weapons or armor), space-time manipulation (escaping black holes, time travel), and regeneration negation. His powers emerged during critical battles against antagonists like Kagato and the entity Z. Severely injured by Z, his near-ascension threatened universal destruction, halted only by the combined intervention of the goddesses Washu, Tsunami, and Tokimi (the Chousin) and his future self, Kami Tenchi.

Kami Tenchi represents Tenchi's ascended, omnipotent form, the supreme being of the Tenchi Muyo cosmology who transcends even the Chousin, creators of the multiverse and overseers of infinite higher-dimensional realms. Kami Tenchi manifested to stabilize Tenchi's mortal form during the Z crisis and later calmed a destructive outburst.

Initially avoiding romantic commitments to prioritize family, Tenchi eventually acknowledged mutual feelings and married all seven women drawn to him: Ryoko, Ayeka, Sasami, Mihoshi, Washu, Ryo-Ohki, and his politically arranged fiancée Noike Kamiki Jurai. Ryoko and Ayeka later bore his daughters, and Ryo-Ohki became pregnant with his child.

In spin-offs like *War on Geminar*, Tenchi supported Kenshi's interdimensional mission in a minor role. Other continuities, such as *Tenchi Universe* or *Daughter of Darkness*, feature alternate narratives where Tenchi protects characters like Mayuka (a girl claiming to be his daughter) or confronts revised timelines, separate from the primary OVA canon.
