TV-Series
Description
Jun Sasada is a responsible, serious class representative at Yowake High School, where she attends alongside Takashi Natsume. She consistently wears glasses and has tidy, dark semi-long hair with hints of brown, reflecting her model-student style.

Before the series began, Sasada lost her biological mother and deeply treasures a keepsake good luck charm from her. When she loses this charm in the old school building, a yokai named Shigure retrieves and returns it. Unable to properly thank Shigure, Sasada feels lingering guilt and repeatedly visits the building hoping for another chance. During these visits, she observes Natsume behaving strangely, such as speaking to unseen entities, leading her to develop a persistent suspicion about his ability to perceive spirits. She directly questions him multiple times, but he consistently evades a truthful answer. Her curiosity about the supernatural sometimes prompts her to try accompanying him on solitary activities, like visiting an abandoned train station.

Sasada maintains friendships within her class circle. She interacts frequently with Touru Taki, sharing music CDs and occasionally teasing Taki about her affection for Madara (Nyanko-sensei). She is also part of a group including Atsushi Kitamoto and Atsushi Nishimura, often seen in casual school settings. She engages in playful banter with Nishimura and generally demonstrates a dependable, caring attitude toward classmates.

During a class test of courage event in the old school building, Sasada encounters Shigure again, facilitated indirectly by Natsume and Madara. This brief reunion provides her closure regarding her unresolved gratitude toward the yokai.

Sasada's story diverges between manga and anime continuities. In the manga, her stepfather's job transfer results in her moving away shortly after the test of courage, limiting her presence to early chapters. Conversely, the anime adaptation retains her as a recurring character beyond this arc. She appears regularly in seasons one and two, with reduced but ongoing appearances in later seasons. Her anime portrayal initially emphasizes a more forceful and inquisitive personality regarding Natsume's abilities, which gradually softens into a supportive, integrated role within the class dynamic. Series creator Yuki Midorikawa endorsed this extended anime role. Sasada's prominence in promotional materials or merchandise remains less consistent compared to characters originating solely from the manga.
