Description
Hange Zoë thrives as an eccentric third-year student at Attack Junior High School and a key member of the Attack Junior High Scout Regiment. Their boundless energy fuels an obsession with Titan research, draining both personal allowance and club funds for experiments and equipment, leaving them perpetually hungry and broke.

Clad in the standard red third-year tracksuit with a "Hange" name tag, they sport an unkempt high ponytail, dark brown hair, light brown eyes, and oval glasses, often layered with a lab coat during scientific endeavors. A near-constant grin mirrors their excitable nature.

Leading the Biology Club, Hange conducts reckless experiments on captive Titans Sawney and Beane—tickling them for reactions or sketching expressions—while ignoring assistant Moblit Berner’s safety warnings. They delegate note-taking and equipment handling to Moblit, dismissing his concerns even when near-fatal bites threaten.

Financial ruin from Titan studies forces Hange to beg Levi for money or food, sometimes theatrically feigning poverty. Repayments often involve worthless offerings like Titan belly button lint instead of cash. Starvation from neglected meals sparks irritability during prolonged hunger.

At school events, Hange cheats in Sports Day’s bun-eating race by employing Sawney, orchestrates first-year "test of courage" pranks, and deploys Titans as crisis distractions. During a summer festival, they hijack classmates for a bug-collecting trip over leisure, resulting in the group getting lost after Hange eats mystery food that knocks them out.

Their dynamic with Levi mixes fund-seeking harassment with mutual respect; Hange relishes provoking him, though Levi usually counters their schemes. They collaborate warmly with Mike on activities like insect hunts, exploiting his sharp sense of smell.

Hange hoards sentimental junk, reacting with distress when Levi discards it. Stubbornness defines their refusal to entertain opposing views, especially regarding Titan research priorities.

Across all portrayals, Hange’s gender presentation remains intentionally ambiguous, reflecting the creator’s vision.
