Description
Hiroshi Nohara, the primary income earner for his family, works as a low-level manager at Futaba Shoji. Significant overtime is driven by a 32-year mortgage, yet he consistently makes time for family. Hailing from Omagari, Akita, he has an older brother and a niece. He met Misae Koyama at age 29, married her soon after, and they quickly welcomed their first child, Shinnosuke.

Hiroshi hands over his entire salary to Misae, who maintains stringent oversight of household spending, leaving him minimal personal funds and occasionally sparking financial disagreements. Despite this, he demonstrates devoted commitment to Misae and their children. He shares interests like appreciating attractive women with Shinnosuke, often drawing Misae's disapproval. Hiroshi typically responds to Shinnosuke's antics with patient calm rather than stern discipline.

His daily life embodies the archetypal Japanese salaryman: enduring crowded commutes, attending post-work social events, and sometimes returning home intoxicated. He quit smoking during Misae's pregnancy with their daughter Himawari as a supportive gesture. A recurring comedic element involves the pungent odor of his feet, with family members occasionally weaponizing his socks.

Within the film "Arashi o Yobu Eikō no Yakiniku Road," Hiroshi's role takes center stage when a stranger crashes into their home, entangling the family in conflict. He pragmatically advocates involving law enforcement. As external pursuers target them, Hiroshi prioritizes safety, navigating threats that culminate in a confrontation involving a mind-control device in Atami, consistently emphasizing familial unity and protection.

The spin-off manga "Nohara Hiroshi Hirumeshi no Ryūgi" explores his midday culinary routines, offering insight into his daily experiences beyond home and work. This gourmet-focused narrative expands his character. An anime adaptation of this spin-off is scheduled for October 2025.
