Nene Sakurada, a five-year-old in Futaba Kindergarten's Sunflower Class, is Shinnosuke Nohara's classmate and friend. She orchestrates frequent "real omamagoto" (real house) games, invariably claiming the mother role. These games feature recurring arguments and divorces, with male classmates Shin-chan, Masao Sato, and Kazama-kun often pressured or blackmailed into participating. Masao Sato is typically cast as her disappointing salaryman husband. Projecting sweetness, Nene possesses her mother's temper, revealing bossy and volatile tendencies. Frustration or anger prompts her to hit a stuffed bunny; lacking that, Masao becomes her target. She harbors fierce rivalry with Ai Suotome, visibly upset when boys favor Ai. Her interests encompass watching *Magical Girl Moe-P* and caring for her numerous pet cats. She co-founded the Kasukabe Defense Organization with Shin-chan and classmates. Nene shares a close yet turbulent bond with Shin-chan. Though he and the other boys often flee her elaborate role-playing, they spend considerable time together. She demonstrates genuine care, such as distress over his potential move to Mexico. Shin-chan occasionally substitutes as her husband when Masao is absent. Nene also acts protectively, clashing with girls interested in Shin-chan. Her relationship with Masao involves frequent scolding or light bullying, often reducing him to tears until Kazama-kun or Bo Suzuki intervenes. In *Crayon Shin-chan: Jungle That Invites Storm*, Nene joins the Nohara family's cruise ship journey to meet Action Kamen's actor and view his new film. Monkeys, controlled by Paradise King, raid the ship at night, kidnapping all adults including Nene's mother. This strands Nene, Shin-chan, Masao, Kazama-kun, Bo Suzuki, Himawari Nohara, and the dog Shiro. The children then embark on a mission to find and rescue the captive adults from Paradise King's island prison. The monkeys abandon Paradise King after his defeat.
