Noshishi is one of twin boar brothers apprenticed to the fox Zorori, forming a core trio across television series, films, and original books. He and his twin brother Ishishi were bandits until their attempt to rob Zorori ended in defeat, turning them into his followers. They remain Zorori's constant companions on his journeys.

The twins share boar features but differ in color schemes and details. Noshishi presents a calmer, more level-headed nature compared to his easily excited brother Ishishi, though both possess low intelligence and high emotional reactivity, creating a complementary dynamic. Noshishi actively participates in Zorori's schemes and inventions, frequently becoming a source of comedy through physical mishaps or misunderstandings. Despite Zorori's ambition to become the "Prince of Mischief," their ill-conceived plans often backfire, unintentionally helping their targets. Throughout these misadventures, including space exploration in the film *Uchū no Yūsha-tachi*, Noshishi consistently shows unwavering loyalty to Zorori.

Their development maintains these core traits, reinforcing their roles as faithful companions. Within the trio's interactions, Noshishi contributes both comedic moments and the accidental heroic outcomes of their escapades.
