Tenchi Masaki is a human-Juraian hybrid raised in Okayama Prefecture, Earth, by his widowed father Nobuyuki. Initially unaware of his extraterrestrial heritage, he trained as a Shinto priest and swordsman under his grandfather Katsuhito, later revealed as Prince Yosho of Jurai's royal family. His ordinary life shattered upon accidentally freeing the sealed space pirate Ryoko Hakubi. This act drew Juraian princesses Ayeka and Sasami, Galaxy Police officer Mihoshi Kuramitsu, and scientist Washū Hakubi to Earth, forming an extended household at his family home. His lineage bestows unique abilities, notably generating Light Hawk Wings – manifestations of higher-dimensional energy typically exclusive to Jurai's royal treeships. Initially manifesting three wings, he wielded this power to defeat the scientist Kagato, escape a black hole, and counter the entity Z. Subsequent timeline alterations resulted in six wings. These wings provide automatic defense, transmute into matter (forming swords or armor), negate regeneration, manipulate space-time, and enable interstellar teleportation. He also wields the Tenchi-ken (Master Key), a sword linked to Juraian technology projecting an energy blade. Character development centers on his relationships and responsibilities. Despite romantic advances from multiple household members, he prioritized family unity over romance until later events. Significant revelations unfolded: discovery of his royal Juraian bloodline, his family's non-aging physiology requiring secrecy, the existence of his 80-year-old sister Tennyo Masaki, and his arranged engagement to Noike Kamiki Jurai, orchestrated by Jurai's Seto Kamiki. The Chōshin – creator goddesses Washū, Tsunami, and Tokimi – identified his latent potential as a "Potential," a being transcending their power. A near-cataclysmic manifestation during the battle with Z threatened existence until calmed by his ascended future aspect, "Kami Tenchi." Later life involved increased responsibilities. He protected Earth from space pirates, demonstrating precise control by teleporting, disabling, and relocating entire fleets without planetary damage. He acknowledged mutual romantic feelings within the household, ultimately marrying Ryoko, Ayeka, Sasami, Ryo-Ohki (in cabbit/humanoid form), Mihoshi, Washū, and Noike, with Emperor Azusa officiating. Ryoko and Ayeka bore his daughters, while Ryo-Ohki became pregnant before events involving his half-brother Kenshi Masaki's mission to Geminar. His role expanded to training Kenshi and interacting with extended family like his aunt Minaho during preparations for his father's wedding to Rea Masaki, who revealed her extradimensional origin and purpose.
