TV-Series
Description
Chisato Chikaishi shares a deep childhood friendship with Kazuya Kagami, dating back to their kindergarten days. They spent much time together, even playing house with dolls. When other children teased Kazuya about this, causing him to stop, Chisato persisted. She kept one doll while Kazuya held the other, symbolizing their enduring connection. This established a pattern where she consistently supports and guides him academically.
Physically, Chisato maintains a plain appearance characterized by thick eyebrows and dark hair typically tied in a braid, often worn with glasses. Altering her look by untying her hair and removing her glasses reveals a more conventionally attractive visage. Her hairstyle evolved from initial bangs to an exposed forehead with hair framing the sides of her face.
Her personality combines studiousness, prudence, and a caring nature, particularly toward Kazuya. However, she reacts violently to extremely unpleasant situations, frequently those involving perverse behavior. This manifests as physical reprimands toward Kazuya using a *harisen* (paper fan), driven by underlying concern rather than malice. Her modest and straightforward nature is exemplified when an Amasogi—a manifestation of impure human desire—forms from her simple wish to study at Kazuya's house. This Amasogi dissipates after Kazuya extends the invitation, fulfilling her desire.
Throughout the series, Chisato appears across multiple story arcs: the Introduction Arc, Hakusan Shrine Arc, Local Exorcist Arc, Sunao Sumeragi Arc, Counselling Office Club Arc, Reversal Arc, and Mayoiga Revolt Arc. Key moments include her involvement in confronting malison manifestations at school, witnessing Kazuya's training sessions, and participating in supernatural conflicts. For instance, she observes Kazuya's combat preparations under a bridge alongside Kokuyou and Kukuri during the Sunao Sumeragi Arc.
While lacking innate supernatural abilities, Chisato demonstrates skill in wielding the *harisen* for comedic or disciplinary violence. Temporarily, within the Dream World, she gains the capacity to summon and command her Amasogi using a special charm provided by Kukuri.
Her role as Class Representative of Kamioka East Middle School's Class 2-2 reinforces her responsible and organized demeanor. She maintains a tsundere dynamic with Kazuya, alternating between affectionate concern and reactive aggression.
