Description
A former Grim Reaper who abandoned soul-collecting duties to experiment with humanity’s mortality, this deserter thrives as an eccentric funeral director and informant to the Phantomhive family, trading secrets for amusement before ascending as a central antagonist. Once the Grim Reaper Dispatch’s top agent, disillusionment with monotony drove them to obliterate half the headquarters in a failed desertion seventy years prior, escaping fully two decades later. Marked as an outlaw among their kind, they defy natural order by editing Cinematic Records—implanting fabricated memories to craft soulless Bizarre Dolls that violently seek living souls, which they romanticize as tragic art.

Their twisted loyalty intertwines with the Phantomhive lineage through the clandestine Aristocrats of Evil, collaborating with patriarch Vincent and harboring a morbid devotion to resurrecting lost family members. This fixation materializes in mourning lockets engraved with “Cloudia” and “13 July 1866,” later bequeathed to Ciel Phantomhive as emblems of manipulative mentorship.

Aboard the doomed *Campania* in the Luxury Liner arc, their experiments unleash reanimated corpses, culminating in phosphorescent green eyes and a skeletal Death Scythe unveiled mid-combat. They exploit emotional weaknesses, baiting foes by endangering Ciel while outpacing adversaries through agility and tactical precision. Subsequent schemes see them masquerading as a school principal to harvest students for experiments, meddling in the Emerald Witch arc’s shadowed intrigues, and resurrecting Ciel’s secret twin in the Blue Cult arc—a act unraveling familial bonds to test resurrection’s limits.

Cloaked in black robes and a crooked top hat, their gray hair veils facial scars, contrasting with weaponized funeral tablets (sotoba) and a skeletal scythe wielded without the glasses typical of Grim Reapers. Macabre wit and disdain for authority—particularly Queen Victoria’s regime—color their philosophical diatribes on death, framing their chaotic guardianship of the Phantomhives as both protector and saboteur.
