Sōichirō Hague commanded Special Fire Force Company 4. An elderly figure with short light-colored hair and spectacles, he bore three distinct scars across his face, reminders of the Great Disaster of Year 196. His bunker gear resembled a robe, masking a powerful physique forged by years of firefighting. Originally a committed firefighter in the Fire Defense Agency, Hague ascended to captain Company 4, earning profound respect. He instilled core principles in his lieutenant, Pan Ko Paat, stressing that a firefighter's own survival was essential to saving others. He taught maintaining composure amid tragedy and moving through fire with care and love. His leadership was instrumental in forming Special Fire Force Company 7 in Asakusa after the Great Disaster, convincing the reluctant Benimaru Shinmon and Konro Sagamiya to lead. The Great Disaster irrevocably changed Hague. Experiencing an Adolla Link exposed him to the extradimensional realm tied to the Evangelist. This freed him from lifelong guilt over unsaved lives but replaced it with a consuming obsession. He became convinced he knew existence's ultimate truth, losing faith in the Holy Sol Temple and privately fixating on experiencing Adolla again, even contemplating founding his own religion. This manifested as a desperate yearning to be burned by an Adolla Burst user to trigger another link, bringing him profound ecstasy. Lacking pyrokinetic abilities, Hague remained a formidable fighter. He mastered standard firefighting gear as weaponry. His skill with safety wires enabled swift opponent restraint, and he wielded fire axes lethally. Exhibiting notable agility and durability despite his age, he could leap gracefully from second-story windows and endure powerful impacts, though his resilience had limits. His combat style revolved around grappling and controlling foes with cables. His obsession directly influenced his actions with Shinra Kusakabe. He privately begged Shinra to immolate him, triggering an Adolla Link involving the First Pillar. Later, during a battle incited by Haumea's mind control, Hague intervened to shield Shinra, restraining controlled allies with cables and pulling Shinra to safety. He deliberately absorbed damaging blows, driven by a masochistic desire to feel Shinra's Adolla Burst flames. Hague expressed guilt over Company 4's delayed response to a subsequent mass Infernal outbreak. He was ultimately assassinated in his office by a White-Clad agent. Discovered bound by his own cables with multiple metal shards piercing his body, his death was officially declared a suicide, though fellow Fire Force members knew it was murder. His final emotions reached Shinra via an Adolla Link. He received a funeral attended by comrades. His legacy continued through his granddaughter, Asako Hague, a lieutenant in Company 4. During the second Great Cataclysm, Shinra Kusakabe's manipulation of time reversed the event, rearranging reality and restoring Hague to life.
