Description
Lala Satalin Deviluke, first princess of the planet Deviluke, is the daughter of King Gid Lucione Deviluke and Queen Sephie Michaela Deviluke, with twin younger sisters Nana Astar Deviluke and Momo Belia Deviluke. As the presumed heir to the throne, constant pressure to marry a royal suitor prompted her to flee Deviluke. She accidentally teleported to Earth, arriving naked in high school student Rito Yuuki's bathtub, an event that began her life on Earth and led to her engagement to Rito.
She possesses a curvaceous figure, long pink hair, and emerald green eyes. Her most distinctive feature is her long, thin Devilukean tail, ending in a heart-shaped tip; this sensitive appendage functions as a weapon capable of firing destructive lasers but also represents a weakness when touched. Her outfits are typically generated by her robotic companion Peke, a shapeshifting device and hair accessory that enables flight and clothing transformation. Without Peke, she wears Earth-style clothing. Her measurements are B89-W57-H87.
Lala exhibits a bubbly, enthusiastic, and childlike personality, often displaying naivety about Earth customs which leads to frequent misunderstandings and dangerous mishaps through her inventions. Despite this seemingly airheaded demeanor, she possesses a genius-level intellect and creates advanced, though often malfunctioning, technological devices that cause comedic or unintended perverse situations. She initially shows no modesty, appearing nude in non-private settings, but gradually learns appropriate contexts during her time on Earth.
Emotionally, Lala demonstrates unexpected maturity in serious situations, becoming visibly upset or angry over genuine conflicts like arguments with Rito or mistreatment of others. Her deep compassion is shown when she voluntarily moved out of Rito's room upon learning of Haruna Sairenji's feelings for him, aiming to ensure fairness. She is optimistic about relationships, openly proposing that Rito could marry multiple partners, including herself and Haruna, under Devilukean law once he becomes king. Later, she actively encourages Rito to confess to Haruna while navigating her own evolving bond with him.
Her abilities include superhuman strength, speed, and durability. She can generate shockwaves with physical strikes, withstand heavy impacts, and consume intensely spicy food without discomfort. Her extreme vocal power was demonstrated when a shout dispersed a typhoon threatening Japan. As an inventor, her creations range from practical gadgets like teleporters to whimsical devices, though they often malfunction.
Lala's character development sees her initial role as the primary romantic interest shift to a supporting position. She focuses on stabilizing Rito's relationship with Haruna while exploring her own feelings. After overexerting her power during a battle against Golden Darkness, her body temporarily regressed to a childlike state, gradually aging back to normal. She remains central to comedic and emotional arcs, frequently using inventions to express affection or resolve conflicts with chaotic results. Her relationships with her sisters are close, though she occasionally displays hypocritical tendencies, like chastising others for actions she committed, such as running away from home. Her story intertwines with themes of self-discovery, cultural adaptation, and unconventional romance.
