Description
Brocken Jr., son of the German Brutal Chojin Brockenman, first appeared in a military uniform featuring Nazi-associated symbols like swastikas and a Totenkopf badge. Later media, including the "Scramble for the Throne" anime, retconned these into generic military insignia such as eagles and skulls. He never adhered to Nazi ideologies. His transformation into a Chojin occurred when he inherited the Totenkopf upon adulthood, granting him superhuman abilities tied to the emblem. Without it, he reverts to human form.
Raised under Brockenman's harsh discipline, he endured rigorous training like weighted arm exercises over flames to master the Red Rain of Berlin technique. He addressed his father as "Lehrer" (teacher). After Brockenman's death at Ramenman's hands, Brocken Jr. sought revenge. He first joined Justice Chojin assembled by Beansman to defend Planet Rakka against Space Samurai, postponing his vengeance to aid the mission—revealing inherent moral principles.
During the 21st Chojin Olympics, he aimed to defeat Ramenman. After advancing through preliminaries by countering Watchman's Sleeper Hold with a Camel Clutch, he faced Ramenman in the quarterfinals. Brocken Jr. poured concrete over the ring to replicate his father's environment, dominating early and dislocating Ramenman's arms. He lost when Ramenman escaped his Camel Clutch and applied a Romero Special. Sharing a hospital room post-match, Brocken Jr. criticized Ramenman for training injured.
A turning point came in "Beyond Love and Hate." Confronting Ramenman during secret training in Hakone, Brocken Jr. engaged in a physical and verbal clash. Ramenman demonstrated the futility of grudges, leading Brocken Jr. to forgive him upon learning Ramenman commemorated Brockenman's death anniversary. This reconciliation forged a mentor-student bond. Brocken Jr. fully transitioned to a Justice Chojin, abandoning brutal methods while retaining techniques like Red Rain of Berlin.
He later swore loyalty to Ataru Kinniku (Kinnikuman Soldier) in the Blood Oath Brigade. As second-in-command of Team Soldier during the Kinniku Throne Survivor Match, he sacrificed himself in a six-man tag by removing his Totenkopf to revert to human form, shielding Ataru from Prisman's Chojin-destroying Rainbow Shower. He endured the beam until sunset, executed the Bremen Sunset on Prisman, and mutual annihilation ensued. Kinnikuman's Face Flash revived him afterward.
Post-throne arc, Brocken Jr. returned to Germany purposeless and descended into alcoholism. Redemption came through adopting Jade, an orphan. Over seven years, he trained Jade as his "Lehrer," imparting techniques and values—their bond depicted as father-son in adaptations. He later mentored Jade in the Ultimate Chojin Tag Tournament.
His Totenkopf-centered abilities included signature techniques: Red Rain of Berlin (high-speed handblade causing bloody wounds), Black Fog of Hamburg (handstand kick), Bremen Sunset (midair piledriver), and Chojin-Killer Mist (poison breath). He displayed power mimicry, replicating The Ninja's Jungyaku Jizai no Jutsu after two exposures. Feats included slicing lightning, surviving cosmic radiation, and regeneration via "Burning Inner Strength." In later years, he mentored Jade, passing on his techniques and legacy.
