This heritage imbues her blood with the "Kushinada pulse," a power capable of putting all Aragami—monstrous entities threatening Japan—into eternal sleep upon her death. To prevent this outcome, the Aragami pursue her capture and containment within a specialized ceramic field.
Her existence shifts dramatically when Mamoru Kusanagi, a man embedded with blue magatama beads, attempts to kill her to activate the Kushinada pulse. During a clash with the Aragami Orochi, she intercepts an attack meant for Kusanagi.
