Description
Hutch is a young honeybee and the central character of the 1974 anime series. He is a strong-minded individual with a well-developed sense of justice, traits that define his actions throughout the story. His early life is marked by profound loss. He was separated from his original family when a wasp attack occurred while he was still inside his egg, a traumatic beginning that sets the course for his journey.
Following this initial tragedy, Hutch eventually manages to reunite with his mother, who is revealed to be the queen of the Honeybee Kingdom, and he begins living happily with her and his younger sister, Aya. However, this period of peace is brutally cut short when another wasp attack claims the life of his mother. In her final moments, the queen gives Hutch a last instruction: to head to Beautiful Hill. Hutch accepts the responsibility of carrying out his mother's will, which is to escort his young and still weak sister, Aya, to Beautiful Hill so she can be installed as the next queen.
