Description
Mimmy is the identical twin sister of Hello Kitty, also known as Kitty White, created by Sanrio and introduced in 1974 shortly after her sister's debut. Her appearance mirrors Hello Kitty's almost exactly, distinguished only by her yellow bow worn on the right ear, contrasting with Hello Kitty’s red bow on the left. Mimmy typically wears orange or yellow overalls with a yellow shirt, though her attire has varied, including green overalls in earlier depictions. Like her sister, she is usually portrayed without a mouth in official art, though some animated adaptations show her with one.

Shy, polite, thoughtful, and girly, Mimmy is more reserved than her outgoing twin but remains happy and friendly. She enjoys sewing and dreams of marriage. The twins share an exceptionally close bond, serving as each other’s best friend and rarely being separated, though they sometimes quarrel over trivial matters. Mimmy is skilled at baking, a talent Hello Kitty lacks, and though generally timid, she can show bravery and act heroically when needed.

She is part of the White family, with parents George and Mary and maternal grandparents, residing in a London suburb. In the Sanrio Character Rankings, Mimmy placed 19th in 2020, 27th in 2021 and 2022, 31st in 2023, 33rd in 2024, and 29th in 2025. She participated in the Sub Character Contest from 2016 to 2019, winning the Decisive Battle in 2019. Mimmy is known as Mimi in Korean and Mandarin Chinese, and Mimī in Japanese.

Her full name is Mimmy White. One story recounts a temporary rift with Hello Kitty when she ruined a pie recipe Mimmy was using to befriend Robert, a childhood love interest considered a precursor to Hello Kitty’s relationship with Dear Daniel due to their similar looks. Mimmy appears across various media, including the educational series "Hello Kitty & Friends: Let's Learn Together," where she and Hello Kitty teach neighbors Amy and Eric Berry and their friend Harry lessons about helping others, weights, origami, and rules. She also features in animations like "Hello Kitty's Paradise" and the OVA series "Hello Kitty and Friends," joining her sister in adventures ranging from daily life to fairy tales.
