TV-Series
Description
Karl Lichter von Randoll is a supporting character introduced in the television series of Future GPX Cyber Formula. Born on July 7, 2001, into one of the most prominent and wealthy aristocratic families in Austria, he is often referred to by nicknames such as the Amadeus of the Circuit, the White Prince, or simply the Genius. Having excelled at numerous sports from a young age, his entrance into the world of Cyber Formula racing was not driven by a passion for the sport itself but by a personal infatuation. After being confronted by Asuka Sugo for his dismissive attitude towards racing, he became enamored with her and decided to pursue a career as a driver to win her attention.

Personality wise, Randoll initially comes across as an arrogant and spoiled prodigy. He is deeply proud of his heritage and abilities, which often manifests as a condescending demeanor towards his rivals, particularly Hayato Kazami. This rivalry is fueled not only by competition on the track but also by their mutual interest in Asuka. A notable early incident involved Randoll challenging Kazami to a race where the winner would receive a kiss from Asuka, a race that ended with Randoll crashing into the sea. Despite his haughty exterior, he has a refined and cultured side, enjoying playing the violin and maintaining an unshakeable tradition of taking tea breaks, sometimes even in the pit lane or garage during a race.

Randoll's role in the story evolves significantly. He begins as a primary rival to Hayato Kazami, debuting professionally in 2015 with the Union Savior team and securing a championship position previously held by Knight Schumacher. He quickly establishes himself as a top contender by winning his debut race and humiliating veteran driver Naoki Shinjyo. His career trajectory is interrupted in 2017 by a severe collision with Hayato Kazami during the British Grand Prix, which leaves him with a scar on his face. Following this incident, his parents disapproved of him continuing, forcing him into a temporary retirement from the sport.

His motivation shifts dramatically after witnessing Hayato Kazami's return to racing. Determined to make a comeback, Randoll uses his substantial family wealth to privately acquire ownership of the Union Savior team, becoming both the owner and a driver. His first return to the track in 2018 was under the masked alias of Prinz Rosencreuz, a disguise that echoed a former champion. Although his identity was exposed during the race, he managed to secure permission to continue his career, marking a turning point where his commitment to the sport became more about personal purpose than proving superiority.

In terms of relationships, his dynamic with Hayato Kazami is the central axis of his development, transforming from a bitter romantic and professional rivalry into a mutual respect born from shared hardship. He also shares a significant relationship with Asuka Sugo, though his affection remains largely one-sided. As a team owner, Randoll demonstrates an innovative and pragmatic side; he invests in redesigning his racing cars by integrating technologies from competitors, such as the rolling cockpit mechanism and six-wheel drive systems, which he licenses from other teams in exchange for engine supplies. Later in his career, he recruits former rival Naoki Shinjyo as his teammate, and following Shinjyo's departure, he hires a female driver named Sera Gellagher. Throughout his appearances, Randoll matures from a spoiled genius who looked down on the sport into a dedicated innovator and respected competitor who finds genuine friendship and purpose within the world of Cyber Formula.
