Arale Norimaki is an android crafted by Senbei Norimaki in Penguin Village, designed to resemble a young girl. She stands as the world’s first perfect android, yet wears glasses for nearsightedness—an intentional flaw in her construction. Her personality blends childlike naivete with sharp intelligence, solving intricate equations while lacking common sense. She aids others with her powers yet rarely grasps the fallout of her actions. Her passions include Japanese superhero shows, monster movies, and poking feces with sticks. She greets others with "N’cha," bids farewell with "Bye’cha," utters "Hoyoyo" in confusion, and emits a "Kiiin" sound when sprinting arms-outstretched. Arale wields colossal superhuman strength, splitting planets with her "Earth-Splitter" punch, launching "Rocket Punch" attacks, and playing pranks via her "Watermelon/Pumpkin Cannon." Her pure heart allows her to ride Goku’s Flying Nimbus cloud in crossovers. During "The Secret of Nanaba Castle," she pursues the stolen "Eye of Rainbow"—a wish-granting artifact Senbei unearthed—after it’s taken by Bisna, a descendant of the Nanaba Kingdom seeking to revive a devil and restore her fallen realm. Arale and allies storm Nanaba Castle to thwart Bisna’s scheme. To mask her artificial nature, Senbei introduces Arale as his sister or daughter. Her family grows when a prehistoric egg found during time travel hatches Gatchan, a winged creature she adopts. Senbei later weds teacher Midori Yamabuki, and they bear a son named Turbo, while Gatchan splits into two beings—forming her domestic core in Penguin Village. Arale crosses into Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball when Goku battles General Blue in Penguin Village; she effortlessly crushes Blue and appears in Dragon Ball Super cameos. Her purity and power persist in these crossovers, including a fourth-wall-breaking moment against Vegeta. Beyond animation, her character inspired video game mechanics—Super Mario 64’s creator Shigeru Miyamoto cited her running style for Mario’s weight physics—and real-world elements like Korean MMA fighter Seo Hee Ham’s "Arale-chan" nickname due to visual likeness.
