Description
Twenty-Fifth Baam, known as Bam, began existence in a dark cave beneath the Tower, isolated until meeting Rachel. She named him "Twenty-Fifth Bam" for his December 25th birthday, explaining "Bam" meant "night" or "chestnut" in Korean. Rachel taught him language, stories of the outside world, human warmth, and fighting, becoming his sole reason for living and instilling the principle never to betray a girl.
After Rachel entered the Tower first, Bam followed. As an Irregular, he opened the Tower's door uninvited. Guardian Headon permitted his ascent following a test. On the Testing Floors, Bam formed vital alliances, particularly with Khun Aguero Agnis and Rak Wraithraiser. Initially weak and protected, he revealed startling shinsu manipulation talent, mastering advanced techniques like Fast Skip instantly, alarming observers. His early feats included defeating the Bull during a test, aided by environmental factors.
Presumed dead after events on the Test Floor, FUG, opposing the Zahard Empire, forcibly recruited Bam. Renamed Jyu Viole Grace—derived from his parents, Arlen Grace and V—he endured brutal training under masters like Ha Jinsung and Yu Han Sung. FUG exploited him as a Slayer Candidate, leveraging his Irregular status to threaten Zahard. To shield his friends, Bam cooperated, gaining notoriety for overwhelming Regulars and challenging Rankers even while restrained. FUG provided immense financial backing, enabling extravagant acts like purchasing Lo Po Bia Elaine.
Rescued during the Workshop Battle by Khun and Rak, Bam reunited with his team. His power surged through subsequent conflicts, especially aboard the Hell Train. Training with data versions of Khun Eduan and the "God of Guardians" honed his shinsu control and combat instincts. A pivotal battle saw him reach a stalemate against data Zahard, demonstrating potential to threaten the real king. He acquired the Thorn, a fragment left by the Irregular Enryu destined to kill Zahard. This weapon amplified his abilities, allowing him to challenge High Rankers like Kallavan, whom he lightly wounded in their first clash.
Following two years of training under Evankhell, Bam emerged capable of defeating Rankers unaided by the Thorn. He officially defeated Test Ranker Pan, surpassing Adori Zahard's record and inciting Ranker resentment. His motivations evolved from pursuing Rachel to protecting allies and rescuing his captured master, Ha Jinsung. At the Nest battle, he confronted Kallavan again, reaching a standstill with Karaka's aid. Driven by vengeance for fallen comrades, he later engaged in a brutal conflict with Slayer White, absorbing much of his power. This absorption, combined with assimilating Leviathan, elevated his strength to levels comparable to top 100 High Rankers like Ha Jinsung. He effortlessly overwhelms elite Lo Po Bia Family members, astonishing even Family Head Lo Po Bia Traumerei, who sought to recruit him through marriage.
Bam's core abilities center on irregular shinsu manipulation, free from Tower contracts. Key techniques encompass flow control, reverse flow control, spell nullification, and teleportation. He exhibits exceptional shinsu resistance, bang control, and physical reinforcement. His fighting stance—open palms versus clenched fists—signals defensive or offensive intent. External power sources like the Thorn, the Black March ignition weapon, and absorbed entities (White's soul fragments, Leviathan) augment his innate potential. He is ambidextrous, a skilled cook specializing in cream spaghetti, and wears clothing curated by Ha Jinsung.
Personality-wise, Bam prioritizes protecting precious people over ambitions like reaching the Tower's top. Early naivety and positivity hardened into steely resolve after FUG's manipulation and betrayals. Though darker impulses surface in intense battles, he rejects imposing his "justice" on others. His complex relationship with Rachel persists, intertwined with revelations about his origins: he is the resurrected son of Arlen Grace and V, killed by Zahard and revived by an "Outside God".
Currently, Bam navigates conflicts involving Great Warriors like Traumerei and Gustang at the Sprout, balancing alliances and personal freedom. His journey from a dependent cave dweller to a figure shaping Tower-wide warfare underscores his unique status among Irregulars.
