He demonstrated tactical ingenuity, such as disguising his Valkyrie in a Zentradi uniform to evade capture on reconnaissance. Reserved yet strictly adhering to protocol, he sometimes interpreted orders literally, conserving ammunition through near-perfect accuracy. His rivalry with Zentradi ace Milia Fallyna culminated in three victories: first in mecha combat, then an arcade simulation, and finally a knife duel. Sparing her life, he proposed. Their televised 2010 wedding, officiated by Captain Global, marked the first human-Zentradi union and became a catalyst for peace. Post-war, they settled near the SDF-1 Macross, welcoming their first daughter, Komilia Maria Fallyna Jenius, in March 2011. The name "Komilia" (Little Milia) reflected her resemblance to her mother. By 2045, Max commanded the Macross 7 fleet as captain of the Battle 7, advised by Exsedol Folmo. His marriage to Milia had dissolved, but they maintained professional contact due to her role as mayor of City 7. Only their youngest daughter, Mylene, remained with the fleet. Max initially forbade Mylene from joining Sound Force over safety concerns but relented after witnessing her piloting and musical skills. Noted for his blue hair and glasses, Max aged minimally, attributed to his "genius" mindset. His abilities included a "genius intuition" for predicting enemy tactics, culinary expertise with a vast recipe repertoire, and sustained piloting proficiency into old age, evidenced by mastering advanced fighters like the YF-29. Alternate depictions exist, such as in the film *Do You Remember Love?*, where he met Milia during a battle resulting in Hayao Kakizaki’s death and briefly led the Skull Squadron after Roy Focker’s demise.
