TV-Series
Description
Kojiro Kanemaki displays a lean build and average height, highlighted by yellow eyes and short spiky blond hair. He initially wears a light-colored kimono and hakama while carrying his inherited sword from late father Jisai Kanemaki and his later-acquired Kitetsu Blade.

Abandoned after Jisai's execution, Kojiro developed self-sufficiency alongside innate kindness. His childhood in Tatsuyama Town's outskirts involved relentless bullying from Oni-worshipping villagers until Musashi befriended him during swordsmanship practice. After Musashi's parents died, Jisai welcomed Musashi into their home. The friends separated following Jisai's brutal execution, leaving Kojiro traumatized and reliant on odd jobs for survival. Kojiro often compares himself competitively to Musashi, sparking self-doubt about his abilities despite his combat resourcefulness.

During the Tatsuyama Town arc, Kojiro resisted Musashi's Bushi band proposal to shield him from persecution. Witnessing Musashi's dedication through his mining pickaxe training, Kojiro saved him from a Nekomata Oni. When a Kishin consumed his father's sword, he refused to surrender it, recalling Jisai's lessons on Bushi pride. Musashi retrieved the sword, repairing their bond and convincing Kojiro to join the band. Kojiro identified the Kishin's belly horn weakness mid-battle, relaying it to Musashi.

In the Kosameda Bushi arc, Kojiro collaborated with Musashi and Tsugumi Hattori to free villagers from Hideo Kosameda's tyranny. He engineered their escape using smoke bombs and guard neutralization. When Tsugumi hesitated to leave, Kojiro supported her choice to join them to protect villagers from future harm.

The Daito Mine arc revealed significant growth: Kojiro acquired the Kitetsu Blade "Vorpal Cherry Blossoms" at auction, passing its trial and bonding with the weapon. After Musashi failed his own trial and was blade-rejected, Kojiro prioritized mission efficiency by leaving him to analyze a Kishin's weakness. Against Shiro Inukai of the Obsidian Eight, he lured the foe to a mountain summit to shield fellow Bushi. Later, he devised the strategy to dismantle Nanao Inusaka's seven-sectioned sword during a joint fight with Musashi and Tsugumi. Musashi nominated Kojiro as band captain due to the Kanemaki family name, a role he accepted to advance their shared objectives.
