Description
Keroppi, formally named Kerokerokeroppi Hasunoue, emerged from a 1987 Sanrio design contest celebrating Japan’s rainy season. His name blends the ribbit-like “kero” with “keropi” (frog), whimsically nodding to morning glory flowers. Born July 10th under Gemini, he inhabits Donut Pond—a sprawling blue-water sanctuary—with his lively family and companions.

Sporting bright green skin, oversized eyes framed by lashes, blushing cheeks, and a mouth shifting between a V and joyful U-shape, Keroppi dons his signature red-and-white striped shirt. His spirited nature drives a passion for baseball, boomerangs, and freestyle swimming, despite his comical ineptitude at traditional frog strokes. Though occasionally scatterbrained or accident-prone, his resilience and upbeat attitude swiftly turn stumbles into fresh adventures.

The Hasunoue clan includes physician father Kerota (or Keroppa), chef mother Keroma, eldest sister Pikki, twin brother Koroppi, and youngest sibling Kokero. Grandparents Kerobah and Kerojee, plus cousin Keroppe, round out the family. Keroppi’s eclectic circle features steadfast snail Den Den; Ganta, a rock-shaping frog with shy strength; lanky, sharp-eyed Kyorosuke; weatherwise doll Teru Teru; and Keroleen, a style-savvy frog often hinted as his unofficial sweetheart.

From early Hello Kitty crossovers to his 1994 anime *Keroppi and Friends!*, his escapades spotlight playful camaraderie. In *Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures*, he runs a Sanrio Town grocery, bonding with Badtz-Maru and Kuromi. Video games like *Kero Kero Keroppi no Daibouken* cast him as a puzzle-solving hero rescuing Keroleen, while *Animal Crossing: New Horizons* nods to his legacy through themed decor and Toby, a rabbit villager mirroring his design.

Beyond animation, Keroppi leaped into 2018’s *Ready Player One*, Sanrio Puroland seasonal festivities, and Japanese pop-up cafés. Collaborations with brands like Emotionally Unavailable and Cotton On underscore his lasting appeal, reflected in fluctuating Sanrio rankings—topping charts in 1990, then settling at 7th by 2024. Though specifics on *Hasunoue Town Kikiippatsu!* remain undisclosed, his stories consistently champion friendship, exploration, and humor, securing his place as a beloved Sanrio staple.
