TV-Series
Description
Mavis von Austien, a noble-born swordswoman and daughter of Count Austien, leads the adventuring party Crimson Vow. Dissatisfied with noble expectations, she ran from home to become a knight, enrolling at the Hunters' Prep School where she met Adele von Ascham (alias "Mile"), Reina, and Pauline, forming the Crimson Vow.

Tall with blonde hair and blue eyes, her androgynous presentation frequently leads to her being mistaken for male. This appearance contributes to her popularity among girls, who call her "Mavis Onee-sama" and seek merchandise like her figures. Instances include fan girls fawning over her in cafés and serving her at inns.

Emotionally moved by sentimental and tragic stories, especially her friends' backstories, she often becomes tearful. Though the Crimson Vow's nominal leader, practical leadership often falls to Reina. Mavis exhibits unwavering loyalty and protectiveness towards her party. She winked at Adele before rescuing her from bandits, knelt to declare service to Adele as "My Princess," and introduced Adele to her father as "her master."

Her combat style centers on swordsmanship. Rigorous training under Mile enhanced her capabilities, enabling advanced techniques like the "1.2 attack speed" maneuver to outpace multiple opponents. She participates in Mile's combination attacks, such as rapidly heating and cooling targets to shatter armor. She sought comfort in Pauline's lap after a Wyvern Dragon damaged her clothing.

A significant arc involves reconciling with her family. When her father tried to forcibly return her to noble life, Mavis and Mile defeated him and her eldest brother in single combat. Their victory proved her competence, leading her father to reluctantly accept her path as a hunter while maintaining concern for her safety.

Interpersonal developments include a scene in light novel volume 9 where she kisses an unidentified girl under a tree. Her journey reflects growth from a runaway noble to a confident adventurer balancing combat prowess with emotional openness and deep camaraderie.
