Description
In the 2023 live-action film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Arcee is a member of the Autobot faction, a small team of heroic Cybertronians stranded on Earth. Her physical form is sleek and agile, designed for speed, and she transforms into a red and white Ducati 916 motorcycle. As a Cybertronian, she possesses the standard attributes of her species, including superhuman strength, durability, and the ability to convert between her robotic form and her vehicle mode.

Arcee is a seasoned warrior who has been fighting alongside her commander, Optimus Prime, for a long time, including the final battles on their home planet of Cybertron before its fall. She was among the group of Autobots who escaped the war-torn world in escape pods and eventually landed on Earth in 1987. By the time the film takes place in 1994, she has been operating in secret on Earth for several years.

In terms of personality, Arcee is pragmatic, sharp-witted, and mission-focused. She is not overly sentimental and often displays a no-nonsense attitude, serving as a grounded counterpoint to the more flamboyant personality of her fellow Autobot, Mirage. While she is cautious and sometimes expresses uncertainty about risky plans, she is also deeply compassionate and loyal. This is particularly evident in her relationship with her comrade Bumblebee, whose temporary death in battle visibly shakes her. She also shows a clear care for the planet Earth and its people, fighting not just to find a way home for the Autobots but also to protect humanity from a greater threat.

Arcee's primary motivation in the story is the same as the rest of her team: to find the Transwarp Key, an artifact that can open a portal back to their destroyed homeworld of Cybertron. This goal, however, evolves as the threat of the planet-eating entity Unicron becomes clear. Her drive shifts from simple survival and a desire to go home to a larger commitment to stopping Unicron from consuming Earth.

Her role in the story is that of a capable support soldier and a vital member of the Autobot strike team. She is frequently seen providing cover fire, scouting, and engaging in high-speed combat against the film's main antagonists, the Terrorcons. While not the primary fighter, her speed and accuracy make her an invaluable asset in battle. She also serves as a voice of reason and a source of information, at one point researching the human Noah Diaz to assess his background.

Arcee shares key relationships with the other Autobots. She is a loyal soldier to Optimus Prime, following his orders without question but also showing concern for his well-being, especially when he contemplates sacrificing himself. She has a notable dynamic with Mirage, often reacting to his unorthodox methods with a mix of exasperation and trust. Her connection to Bumblebee is perhaps the most emotionally resonant; she mourns his loss and holds onto hope for his revival, suggesting a deep bond forged through years of war together. She also interacts with the human characters, Elena Wallace and Noah Diaz, showing a willingness to trust them and acknowledging their bravery.

Throughout the film, Arcee does not undergo a major personal transformation but rather demonstrates her established character traits under extreme pressure. Her development is more about the reaffirmation of her values: the willingness to sacrifice personal goals for the greater good and the recognition that her new home and its people are worth fighting for. She ends the film more integrated into the community on Earth, having forged stronger bonds with her Autobot family and her human allies.

Regarding her abilities, Arcee is a formidable combatant who uses her small stature and incredible speed to her advantage. She is a skilled sharpshooter, often using blasters mounted on her arms to engage enemies from a distance. In close quarters, she is highly agile, capable of executing acrobatic maneuvers and quick strikes in her robot mode. Her transformation into a Ducati motorcycle allows her to navigate urban and natural environments with ease, and she often uses her vehicle mode for rapid transit and evasive action. Her primary contributions in battle are reconnaissance, hit-and-run tactics, and providing suppressing fire for her heavier comrades.
