Description
Fullbody is a Marine officer who first appears as a lieutenant stationed in the East Blue, later serving under Captain Hina following a demotion and subsequent reinstatement. He is a man of average height with pink hair, which he initially wore neatly combed, and a distinctive scar located under his right eye. His most notable physical features are the metal bolts attached to his knuckles, which he uses as weapons in combat. As the series progresses, his appearance becomes more unkempt, with his hair growing longer and his attire shifting to a more casual style that includes a Marine cap, a navy blue shirt, and orange plaid pants.

In his initial introduction, Fullbody is portrayed as a successful and arrogant officer who fancies himself a ladies' man, enjoying the finer things in life such as good wine and the company of beautiful women. He takes great pride in his rank and status, and is prone to underestimating his opponents. However, this arrogant exterior masks a more complex personality. Following a humiliating defeat at the hands of the chef Sanji at the Baratie restaurant, Fullbody undergoes a significant change. He demonstrates a strong sense of loyalty and moral justice that deviates from the Marines' stricter doctrines. This is most evident when he befriends the former Black Cat pirate Jango after a dance contest. Despite his duty to arrest pirates, Fullbody risks his own career to defend Jango in court, accepting a demotion to Seaman Recruit to secure his friend's pardon and enlistment in the Marines. He also shows a genuine commitment to protecting innocent civilians, once enduring a brutal beating from a pirate captain who had taken a hostage rather than risk the woman's safety.

Fullbody's motivations are driven by a mix of personal pride, a sense of duty, and his deep loyalty to his friends. He holds a lasting grudge against Sanji for the humiliation at Baratie, and he desires to capture the Straw Hat Pirates, partially out of revenge and partially as a matter of professional duty. His primary role in the story evolves from a minor antagonist and obstacle for the Straw Hats to a supporting character. After his demotion, he and Jango become devoted subordinates and admirers of Captain Hina, following her on various missions. In this capacity, he participates in events such as the attempt to capture Baroque Works agents after the Alabasta conflict and the Battle of Marineford.

Key relationships define Fullbody's character arc. His partnership with Jango is central, as the two become nearly inseparable, often moving and dancing in sync with each other. Their friendship transcends the typical pirate-Marine divide, built on mutual admiration for each other's dancing skills. Fullbody is also completely infatuated with his superior, Hina, who tolerates his and Jango's eccentric behavior despite finding them bothersome. He has a minor but pivotal relationship with a woman named Moodie, whom he took on a date to the Baratie; it was Sanji's interactions with her that sparked the conflict and Fullbody's subsequent defeat. His rivalry with Sanji remains a recurring personal motivation, though he is often easily outmatched.

Fullbody's development is marked by a shift from a self-centered, arrogant officer to a more loyal and principled individual. His willingness to sacrifice his rank for a friend is the clearest indication of his growth. While he still desires to prove himself and capture pirates, his actions are tempered by a sense of camaraderie and a personal code of honor. Over time, he manages to rise through the ranks again, eventually reaching the rank of lieutenant commander.

In terms of abilities, Fullbody is a competent fighter, skilled in a form of boxing that utilizes the iron bolts on his knuckles to deliver more powerful and damaging blows. His skills are sufficient to easily defeat small-time bounty hunters and ordinary pirates, but he is significantly outclassed by more powerful characters like Sanji. Outside of combat, he is an exceptionally talented dancer, a skill that not only led to his friendship with Jango but also allowed him to stage a dramatic, dance-based protest in a courtroom to save Jango from execution.
