Description
Huginn is one half of a pair of ravens that serve Odin, the chief god of the Norse pantheon in Record of Ragnarok II. Huginn is distinguished from the partner, Muninn, by white plumage, while Muninn has black feathers. As the constant companions of Odin, the two ravens are almost always seen perched on his shoulders, observing events and offering their commentary on his behalf.

The background of Huginn stretches back thousands of years. As a creature bound to a god, Huginn is biologically immortal and has lived for over four millennia, having been present at divine councils as early as 2000 B.C.. This long lifespan has made Huginn a fixture of the celestial court, witnessing pivotal decisions about the fate of humanity across the ages.

In terms of personality, Huginn is characterized by a proud and talkative nature. Despite being a bird, Huginn possesses human-level intelligence and speech, and does not hesitate to express a strong sense of superiority over humanity, viewing humans as inferior beings. This arrogance is often leveraged through the privileged position as Odin's envoy, allowing Huginn to berate others or dismiss human potential with impunity. However, this bluster is tempered by an awareness of physical vulnerability; when directly threatened or when Odin displays genuine anger, Huginn quickly becomes silent and retreats from confrontation.

The primary motivation for Huginn is to serve Odin and uphold the status of the gods. This involves acting as an observer and a mouthpiece, relaying information and reinforcing the divine hierarchy. When the Valkyrie Brunhilde interrupts a gods' council to propose the Ragnarok tournament, Huginn and Muninn are among the first to scold her and reject the idea, believing it to be a waste of time because a human could never defeat a god.

Within the story, Huginn’s role is primarily that of an observer and commentator. During the Ragnarok matches, such as the first round between Thor and Lü Bu, Huginn and Muninn discuss the fighters' motives, speculating on whether Thor is ending a fight out of boredom or respect. They express shock when a human warrior withstands a god's powerful attack. Beyond commentary, they participate in key moments of divine politics, from councils deciding humanity's fate to confrontations with other powerful beings like Loki and Beelzebub. On at least one occasion, Huginn and Muninn have physically assisted Odin by transforming into a pair of wings on his sides, granting him the ability to fly.

The key relationship for Huginn is, of course, with Odin, whom they serve directly and constantly accompany as assistants. The relationship with Muninn is that of an inseparable partner, operating as a single unit to observe the world and speak for their master. Huginn and Muninn interact with other key gods, such as Zeus and Thor, as subordinates, often cheering on their victories. Their relationship with humanity and figures like Brunhilde is defined by scorn and underestimation, consistently failing to recognize human resilience until it is undeniably displayed in the arena.

There is little to no personal development for Huginn across the events of the series. The character remains a static figure, representing the entrenched arrogance and observational role of a divine servant. The notable abilities of Huginn include human-level intelligence and fluent human speech. As a raven, Huginn can fly, and the pair possess the unique ability to transform themselves into a set of wings to allow Odin to fly. Thanks to their divine bond, they are ageless and cannot die from natural causes like old age.
