Description
Nia Honjō, codenamed "Sister" and recognized as the Second Spirit, originated in light novels before appearing in anime. An ordinary human approximately 27-28 years ago, her bonding with a Sephira Crystal transformed her into a Spirit, erased her past memories, and established her as the second Spirit after the First. She initially triggered spacequakes but later rejoined human society.

Her youth featured a deep passion for manga and video games, including award-winning original characters. Roughly a decade ago, she achieved professional success as manga artist "Souji Honjō" with "Silver Bullet." Utilizing her Angel, Rasiel, to probe her origins and others' secrets exposed humanity's darker aspects. This discovery shattered her trust, driving her into the perceived safety of the "2D world" where fictional characters held no malice. She maintained superficial social interactions by treating people like non-player characters.

Approximately five years ago, DEM uncovered her existence. Ellen Mira Mathers captured her via surprise attack, leading to imprisonment. DEM subjected her to intense physical torture to induce an Inverse state, which she resisted. To prevent mental collapse, DEM employed Realizer technology to suppress her torture memories and placed her in an artificial coma. She remained confined at a Neryl Island facility until rescued.

Physically, she possesses short ash-gray hair, turquoise eyes, and stands 168 cm tall. Her apparent age is 18-19, while her actual age is 45-47. Her Astral Dress, Yod, resembles a nun's habit with ink-colored, semi-transparent fabric revealing her silhouette. Design elements include a pen-tip-shaped collar, manga panel patterns, long black boots, a gray veil with an attached pen, and a golden cross at her waist. Casual wear typically involves unfeminine clothing, often paired with dark red square-framed glasses. Her Inverse form manifests light red eyes, thorny red halos, patchwork paper covering her torso, and a black cape with a blood-red sash.

Personality-wise, she projects an energetic, cheerful demeanor enabling quick social adaptation. However, near-omniscient powers fostered profound distrust of humans, causing emotional isolation behind superficial engagement. She openly declares love exclusively for fictional characters, stating she "never fell in love with anything but 2D." Passionate about otaku culture, she assigns nicknames to fellow Spirits and reacts fiercely to misrepresentations of her favorite series. She despises spoilers and avoids conflict, refusing to disclose dangerous information under pressure. Additional traits include heavy drinking, reliance on instant food, and pacifism that prevents her from using abilities to harm others.

Her abilities center on her Angel, Rasiel, a book granting near-omniscient knowledge of past and present. It functions like a "super powerful search engine," requiring conscious focus. Limitations include inability to access inner thoughts, predict the future, or provide subjective advice. Rasiel also enables "future describing": writing or drawing events to alter reality. This process is time-consuming, and effects can be resisted by wielders of multiple Spirit powers. After DEM extracted most of her Qlipha Crystal, Rasiel's capabilities diminished significantly, yielding illegible information and losing future manipulation. She retains minimal power to restrict Westcott's analogous Angel, Beelzebub, due to their shared origin. Post-rescue, external assistance partially restored her abilities, allowing summoning of paper-based constructs.

Character development follows Shido Itsuka aiding her escape. Initially resistant to emotional connection, she agrees to date him but rejects 3D romance. Ratatoskr creating a manga depicting Shido's bonds with other Spirits moves her with its themes of trust, prompting her to begin opening her heart. However, DEM remotely triggers her traumatic memories, forcing her into an Inverse state. During this, Ellen and Artemisia Bell Ashcroft steal her Qlipha Crystal, which Westcott absorbs to gain Beelzebub's powers. Shido seals her remaining Spirit powers using a fragment of her Sephira Crystal, saving her life and cementing her emotional shift. Post-recovery, she rejoins society, reconciles with an old friend, and reveals crucial lore to fellow Spirits: all Spirits were once human, and the first spacequake occurred 30 years ago—information uniquely held by her as the second Spirit.
