Maeva Méline

Description
Maeva Méline is a French singer and actress born in Paris on January 20, 1980, primarily known for her extensive work in voice dubbing for animation and her career as a musical theater performer and recording artist. Her professional life is marked by a dual career in music and voice acting.

Méline's career began in music, notably participating in the casting for the seventh season of Star Academy in 2007. In 2008, she gained recognition for her role as Nannerl, the sister of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in the successful French musical Mozart, l'opéra rock, a performance that contributed to her public profile. Her musical talent also led to work as a soloist for film soundtracks, such as for the French version of Disney's Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue in 2009. In 2013, she further showcased her singing as a contestant on the second season of the French talent show The Voice: la plus belle voix.

A significant milestone in her voice acting career arrived in 2010 when she was selected as the French voice of the title character, Princess Rapunzel, in Disney's animated feature film Tangled (Raiponce). This role established her as a prominent voice for Disney in France, leading her to reprise the character in subsequent productions, including the short film Tangled Ever After (Le Mariage de Raiponce) in 2012, the series Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure (Raiponce, la série) from 2017 to 2020, and the feature film Ralph Breaks the Internet (Ralph 2.0) in 2018. Her Disney work also includes providing the singing voice for Princess Merida in the French version of Brave (Rebelle) in 2012 and voicing Unikitty in The Lego Movie (La Grande Aventure Lego) in 2014 and its 2019 sequel.

In addition to her Disney roles, Méline has voiced characters in various other animated films and series. Notable film credits include Jane in the 2014 film Tarzan and Yūko in the Studio Ghibli film From Up on Poppy Hill (La Colline aux coquelicots) in 2011.

Since around 2020, Méline has become increasingly active in dubbing Japanese anime series into French. She has taken on leading roles in several series, many of which were dubbed by Crunchyroll Dubbing France. These prominent anime roles include Yuuri Amagake in Battle Game in 5 Seconds in 2021, Fricka in She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man in 2022, Nia Honjo in the fourth season of Date A Live in 2022, and Anna Hōjo, also known as Princesse Incandescente, in Love After World Domination in 2022. She also voiced the lead character Naoko Watanabe and her superhero alter-ego Gauko in the Netflix series Dino Girl Gauko from 2019 to 2020. Her consistent work in this genre is further demonstrated by her role as Alexia Midgar in The Eminence in Shadow starting in 2022.
