Chiaki is handsome, academically gifted, athletic, and born into a wealthy family, yet he has never been popular with girls nor experienced love. Determined to turn his fortunes around in high school, he wakes up one morning to find himself transformed into a girl. Shocked to have lost the appearance he was so proud of, he looks in the mirror to see a very cute girl staring back. He immediately goes to show off his new form to his twin sister Kaede, who is very popular with girls, only to discover that something equally strange is happening to her.

The story is a romantic comedy written by Tsukasa Fushimi, known for Oreimo and Eromanga Sensei, with illustrations by Hiro Kanzaki. The narrative follows Chiaki Yasumi, the protagonist who becomes a girl just as high school begins, and his twin sister Kaede, who possesses a cool personality. Their older sister Yuko is a mad scientist, and Mei Nishiarai is Chiaki's childhood friend who is popular in their class.

The series begins with Chiaki's vow to reinvent himself socially, which is immediately upended by his physical transformation. He must navigate high school life in a new body while dealing with the changes affecting his sister Kaede.
