Description
A half-human wand craftsman named Ix, recently homeless after his master’s death, leaves his isolated village seeking work. He encounters Yuui, a girl holding a valid contract for a free wand repair from Ix’s late instructor. Honoring the agreement, Ix examines the wand and discovers its core is powered by the heart of a dragon—a creature believed to have gone extinct over a thousand years ago. To fulfill the repair and put their respective pasts to rest, Ix and Yuui must uncover the truth behind the dragons’ disappearance before a strict summer deadline.

Ix is a fledgling wandmaker who cannot use magic himself, making him reliant on his craft and intellect. Yuui is a quiet young woman from a distant land, carrying secrets about her origins and her connection to the wand. Their partnership evolves from a transactional arrangement into a shared investigation of forgotten history. In the second volume, Yuui is taken in by a witch, deepening her understanding of the wand’s power and her own past. The third volume shifts the setting to the city of Estosha, where Ix takes on a commission for the local monastery and forms a friendship with Shuno, another apprentice wandmaker. Meanwhile, Yuui and a companion named Nova are compelled by the New Order to attend theological conferences on Marayist scripture, drawing Yuui into political and religious tensions. A bomb threat at the conference forces Ix and Yuui’s paths to cross again in a decisive encounter.

The world is a high-fantasy realm shaped by territorial, religious, and racial conflict. Each region has distinct cultural traditions and histories, and the narrative explores how customs evolve and sometimes lose meaning over time. The story balances a quiet, investigative tone with moments of tension, weaving together themes of purpose, acceptance, and coming to terms with a painful past. The series concludes over three volumes, each centering on a different stage of the protagonists’ journey toward understanding the dragons’ legacy and their own places in the world.
