Description
A globally popular game known as The Legend of the Seven Heroes had a sequel that a skilled gamer named Ren cleared at the fastest record in the world. His reward was bonus special data, but after searching for it everywhere within the game to no avail, he decided to simply start a second playthrough. At that moment, a notification appeared asking if he wanted to start a special story, and upon choosing yes without hesitation, Ren lost consciousness and reincarnated as a baby in the game's world.
At first, Ren assumed he had been reborn as one of the heroes, but he soon heard his mother speak his name, which belonged not to a hero but to a classmate who betrays the heroes midway through the story, a character suspected of being the mastermind behind the entire trilogy. The setting is the world of this game, where Ren, now possessing the identity of the future antagonist, wishes for nothing more than to live a peaceful life in the countryside without getting involved in any world-ending plots. However, his plans are thwarted when he crosses paths with the very saint he is supposed to kill according to the game's original story, and he fails to carry out the assassination. He then goes on to save a character, the boss of a great noble family, who was fated to die.
These actions create unforeseen developments that diverge entirely from the known narrative. Instead of a villain, Ren finds himself navigating a new fate where his knowledge of the original game is both an asset and a liability. Notable narrative arcs include his early life coming to terms with his identity as the mastermind, the initial encounter with the saint that sets his new path in motion, and the ripple effects of saving characters who were meant to perish, which reshapes the political and personal alliances of the world around him.
