Description
Wellmy Ernest, a former commoner, ascends to nobility when her mother marries an earl. She gains a new father and a quiet, unassuming half-sister the same age. From that moment, Wellmy dedicates herself to a campaign of cruelty. She torments her sister at home and at the elite academy they both attend. She steals her sister's position as the family heir, seduces away her fiancé, and finally arranges to have her sold off to the feared Sorcerer Lord, a man rumored to be merciless. To all who witness her actions, Wellmy appears to be the perfect, conniving villainess who has seized everything she ever wanted.

The story opens at the moment of Wellmys apparent downfall. An invitation arrives to a grand ball hosted by the Sorcerer Lord. Wellmy and her parents attend, expecting a magnificent celebration to introduce the Sorcerer Lords new fiancée her banished sister. Instead of a glamorous banquet, the ballroom transforms into a tribunal. The Sorcerer Lord publicly condemns the entire Ernest family for their systematic abuse of his betrothed. Wellmy stands exposed as the orchestrator of her sisters suffering.

However, this condemnation is not a defeat; it is the final act of Wellmys long-concealed plan. Every act of malice, from the daily bullying to the stolen engagement, was a calculated move to free her sister from a toxic home. The plain and dull sister she supposedly victimized is, in truth, the person Wellmy loves most in the world. Wellmy deliberately played the role of the irredeemable villain to push her sister away, sever her ties to their abusive family, and ultimately place her in the care of a genuinely powerful and kind husband who could protect her. The story is told through extensive flashbacks that gradually reveal the loving intentions behind Wellmys cruel facade, showing how she manipulated everyone around her, including her own parents, to achieve her sister's happy ending.

The central character is Wellmy Ernest, a brilliant and self-sacrificing young woman who willingly destroys her own reputation and future to ensure her sister's safety. Her half-sister, Iora, is the gentle and beloved target of Wellmys schemes, who initially believes herself to be genuinely hated. The Sorcerer Lord is a powerful noble who becomes aware of Wellmys true plan and plays an integral role in its final condemnation stage, ultimately becoming Ioras devoted husband. The setting is an aristocratic fantasy world with noble houses, magical elements embodied by the Sorcerer Lord, and a prestigious school where much of the social maneuvering takes place.

The narrative follows a distinct arc. The opening is the condemnation scene, the apparent end of the villainess. The story then rewinds to show Wellmys childhood, her discovery of the familys dysfunction, and the formation of her secret plan. The middle section depicts her increasingly cruel actions through this new lens, revealing them as difficult but necessary sacrifices. A major arc involves Wellmy orchestrating the relationship between her sister and the Sorcerer Lord, culminating in the very condemnation that begins the book. Later volumes explore the aftermath of her plan, as the truth emerges and Wellmy must face the consequences of her actions while dealing with her own ruined life and the unexpected ways her plan affects other nobles and magical forces around her.
