Description
A salaryman in modern Japan falls asleep in front of his television and awakens as Zil, a character from his favorite anime, Ragnarök: Twilight of the Gods. In the original story, Zil is the epitome of a charismatic and untouchable villain, reigning as the final boss throughout the first part of the series. But in a cruel and predictable narrative twist, he is abruptly reduced to mere canon fodder, instantly killed to make way for the next antagonist’s grand entrance.
Refusing to accept this humiliating fate, the protagonist vows to defy the original plot and ensure his survival, even if it means challenging the gods themselves. He now must carefully navigate the world of the anime, building his strength and amassing forces while flawlessly maintaining Zil’s imposing and arrogant facade. However, his efforts to simply survive and break the canon begin to have unintended consequences. Instead of following his predetermined path to a quick death, the people around him start worshipping him as a living god, thrusting him into a role far greater than he ever anticipated.
The narrative follows his ascension from a discarded pawn to a potential world unifier, exploring the challenges of maintaining a villainous persona while genuinely changing the course of history. Major arcs include his initial struggle to survive the death flags of the original plot, the unexpected rise of his divine cult, and his eventual confrontation with the very narrative forces that seek to destroy him.
