Description
Luke Wizalia Gyleberde, a man who has been reborn into the world of a fantasy novel, faces a critical problem: he is the storys arrogant villain aristocrat, a character destined for a humiliating and disastrous end at the hands of the heros righteous fury. Unwilling to simply play the role of the heros ultimate fall guy, Luke decides to tear up the original script. Armed with the memories of his past life and the monstrous natural talents of his new body, he enrolls at the prestigious Aslan Magic Academy with a single, defiant goal: to become the strongest student and completely overwrite his villainous fate.
However, Luke quickly discovers that rewriting a story is far messier than simply becoming powerful. The original narrative, where he was a lazy, spiteful bully, has been thrown into chaos. As he trains obsessively, honing his rare and potent dark magic and swordsmanship to an absurd degree, he begins to attract an entirely different kind of attention. The heroines meant to pine for the protagonist find themselves drawn to Lukes arrogant charisma. High nobles and even shadowy schemers see him as a magnetic new force to follow or oppose. Rather than facing ruin, Luke finds himself at the center of a new, unpredictable story where his smallest actions threaten to unravel the very fabric of the world he knows.
The setting is a classic fantasy realm dominated by noble houses and magical academies, with Aslan Magic Academy serving as the primary stage for the developing conflict. The protagonist, Abel, is the novels original hero, a kind but comparatively weak and one-note character who is meant to defeat Luke. Now, Abel risks being completely overshadowed. Around Luke, a strange collection of followers gathers. There is Alice, his sadistic fiancée who discovers she enjoys being utterly dominated and becomes his most loyal devotee. There is Mia, a talented but insecure young girl who, after being crushed in a duel, turns to Luke to make her stronger. There is also Alfred, his stoic butler and a former vice-commander of the royal knights, who trains Luke in the sword with fierce pride. Even the original storys plot points begin to warp, with events and allies meant for Abel manifesting around Luke, much to his irritation.
As the series progresses through notable arcs, Lukes journey becomes one of frustrated power and unwanted heroism. After effortlessly crushing an upperclassman who turns out to be a prince, Luke finds himself saddled with the royals loyalty and even more unwanted attention. When a plot by assassins threatens the academy and unleashes a rampaging ice dragon, Lukes power becomes the last line of defense. He does not care about saving anyone; he simply wants to grow stronger and remove obstacles. Yet, everyone around him begins to insist on treating him like a hero, a role he finds incredibly troublesome.
The complications only escalate from there. Later, during the Sword Saint Festival, Lukes enemies decide they cannot beat him in a fair fight. A band of kidnappers targets the loved ones of the original hero, Abel, and demands that Abel assassinate Luke in exchange for their release. As Luke races to dismantle these schemes, he must also contend with an elven terrorist group and assassins from a foreign divine nation, all of whom have descended on the festival. Thrust into the center of a conspiracy that threatens an entire empire, the extremely arrogant villain aristocrat is forced to confront the fact that no matter how hard he tries to be a self-serving monster, the world is determined to see him as its greatest savior.
