Young Miharu is born into a family that has purified Ayakashi for generations, yet he cannot handle the supernatural and lacks the sense or powers to purify them. After his grandfather, his only close family, passes away, Miharu is left to fend for himself against cruel Ayakashi who torment him and neglectful relatives who want nothing to do with him. One day, a human-hating, rude, and rough demon named Kochi appears, shot with a cursed arrow on his back. Kochi seeks out Miharu, who is the key to relieving him from his curse. To Kochi’s surprise, Miharu reveals that he, too, is cursed, setting the stage for their year-long, reluctant coexistence. The narrative unfolds over 365 days as these two cursed beings learn to navigate their shared plight. The story is grounded in a world where spirit purifiers and yokai exist in a delicate, often hostile balance, with Miharu caught between his family legacy and his inability to conform to it.
