Description
Okabe enters high school with a simple plan: focus entirely on his studies and avoid romantic distractions. His resolve is immediately tested when the girls around him begin sending what appear to be increasingly obvious romantic signals, from playful teasing to bold physical advances. The comedy and tension arise from the fact that Okabe remains perpetually oblivious to their intentions, interpreting every flirtation, kabedon, and suggestive comment as either a misunderstanding or a coincidence.

The story takes place during Okabe's first weeks of high school, a setting that amplifies the awkwardness of new social dynamics and unspoken attractions. The female cast each expresses interest in distinct ways. One is confident and assertive, known for using direct physical proximity and teasing to make Okabe panic. Another character, Satori, provides much of the series internal humor; while her outward behavior is relatively restrained, her inner monologues are notably less innocent, bordering on perverted, which creates a sharp contrast between her public and private personas. A third girl, Sano, may not even be romantically interested in Okabe, instead appearing to enjoy stirring up chaos and manipulating the social situation for her own amusement.

As these competing signals collide, the narrative evolves into what fans have described as a harem battle royale, where the girls indirectly compete for Okabes attention while he remains frustratingly dense. Early chapters establish key moments such as a memorable kabedon from the assertive Rui, and escalating awkward encounters involving Satori. The central dramatic question is whether Okabe is truly as clueless as he appears, or whether he is strategically ignoring the obvious to maintain his focus on academics and avoid the chaos that acknowledgment would bring. This tension between genuine density and willful ignorance drives the ongoing romantic comedy as the series continues to publish new chapters.
