A young girl named Alakuru was chosen by divine oracle to become the hero, embarking on a quest to defeat the Demon Lord alongside her party. Upon completing this mission, she is horrified to discover that while she was not looking, her fellow adventurers, a group of handsome princes, expelled the party's oldest member, an older man named Fakuru, without her knowledge or consent. Shocked by his absence, Alakuru swiftly finishes off the Demon Lord and immediately sets off to find him, driven by her deep affection for him and, more specifically, his home cooking.

Fakuru is a C-rank adventurer whose lifelong dream is to retire from the dangerous life of a hero's companion and open his own small diner to enjoy a peaceful, slow life. When Alakuru catches up to him, she enthusiastically decides to abandon her title as hero and support his dream, offering to work as a waitress in his future restaurant, despite being completely unaware of her own catastrophic clumsiness.

The story follows this unlikely pair as they travel together towards the Tritos region, where Fakuru plans to settle down. Their journey is complicated by Alakuru's forceful but awkward romantic advances, which Fakuru remains oblivious to, as well as the appearance of new companions. A significant obstacle arises when the Demon Lord, who was supposedly already defeated, reappears to stand in their way.

Later, during their travels, the group encounters an old man named Genji who runs a restaurant in a mysterious forest. After a series of events, they end up inheriting this establishment. Their initial attempt to run the diner fails as no customers come, but with advice from their companion Chris, they reorganize and prepare for a grand reopening. Their efforts pay off spectacularly when a particular customer brings them great success, though this peaceful daily life is soon threatened by the arrival of a mysterious person who shakes the foundation of their newfound happiness.
